Press Statement on Kapar MP Issue by keADILan Deputy President PDF Print

I wish to urge and plead to various leaders in Pakatan to stop taking their differences and conflicts through the media, especially the BN government controlled ones.

This includes not only the Selangor MB and the Kapar MP, but also the Selangor Speaker and the Klang MP.

They should sit down to discuss and settle these differences and conflicts internally. There are various channels and procedures existing to do so.

In the absence of the President, Dr Wan Azizah Ismail and the Ketua Umum, Sdr Anwar Ibrahim, who are away until January 6, I shall be calling a meeting of the Political Bureau this Wednesday, to discuss the main and related issues in order to find suitable solution.

The issue on the Kapar MP threat to leave PKR has been blown out of proportion by certain BN government party controlled media. They have distorted statements by some Pakatan leaders in order to portray as if the opposition alliance is in disarray.

Obviously, their intention is to draw public attention away from the series of crises in the BN and also within major components of the government coalition, leading to the upcoming Kuala Terengganu by-election.

DR SYED HUSIN ALI
Deputy President PKR

Syed Ali,

Crack the whip on your party members who are politicking and making it difficult for elected representatives to truly fulfill the wishes of the constituency. Umno style factional politicking is widespread in PKR. That is stumbling and disappointing the real grassroot workers like Manicka. Elected reps must ultimately abide by the voters demands!

I agree with the wisdom of Dr Syed Husin Ali.

Anyone spilling his/her beans to the MSM is not going to get his/her side of the story told because the MSM have an agenda of their own.
Any elected representative who does not understand this is not matured enough to be the people's representative.

I think this is a BN srategy. Most of the papers lean towards BN...so they blow up th is issue to confuse the public. I think it is not fair to wag Manicka as a snake(it is derogatory)written by Dragon888, December 28, 2008 14:06:35as it is possible that he is genuine in wanting to solve his constituency's problems.

there is a saying the Chinese will sell their wives and mothers to be prostitutes for money..(it is derogatory)..and the Malays will lick and suck anything for money ( derogatory) but all these terms reflect the bigotry rampant among the 3 races...it should be stopped when blogging

As this is the second time Kapar MP threaten to leave, Pakatan should show him the exit door. Pakatan must let all the MPs know that this is a no nonsense party. Any problem should be solve internally.

This is obviously resorting to 'firefighting' which is evidence of an incompetency in a system or organization. It looks like PKR is like a coconut floating in mid-ocean and going where the current flow. Why is there so many incident of unilateral actions and voicing out in the media? That is bad strategic management.

With all the available managerial capabilities that individual members with MBAs, PhDs and tons of managerial experience in the PKR, it is dissappointing to note that PKR do not appear to have a strategic management system and framework in place or one that works efficiently.

Implementing and serious monitoring a managerial systems as basic as the Mckenzie-7S Model would have saved the hassle of the above embarassing firefighting action.

Btw, I last voted 'not-BN' with the hope that PKR will work out.
Hey PKR, when are you going to implement an effective strategic management system. For a system to be efficient there must be continual communication, review and improvements to ensure all actions for the respective parties are aligned to the mission, vision, objective and strategies of the coalition.

I think it is not fair to wack Manicka as a snake..as it is possible that he is genuine in wanting to solve his constituency's problems.

That is correct! There is a conflict between abiding by the party politics or fulfilling the demands of the voters. Khalid choose the former. Manicka the latter. The bus stand was only one among several issues.

Syed Husin Ali has named Khalid, the menteri besar, as one of the participants to this conflict.

I think if manika wants to resign, it's best to let him go without any fuss since he is not happy. Pint is, did he win on a PR ticket? If so, then he ought to resign and stand for a by election. If he wins, then all credit to him and he can become become an independent or MIC.
Otherwise it is not fair to become an independent just like that as he might be riding on the success of PR.

It's like a small child crying out loud at every instance. Please behave like elected reps and find a solution for the problems rather than giving the MSM fodder and the BN gleefully adding fuel.
