100 dead and over 45,000 dengue cases this year - 'conspiracy of silence' outrageous PDF Print

Outraged at over 100 dengue deaths and over 45,000 dengue cases with no leadership or public campaign by Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai to stem the worst dengue epidemic in country's history

I feel totally outraged at the conspiracy of silence involving the government headed by the Health Minister, Datuk Liow Tiong Lai and even the media to play down the worst dengue epidemic in the country's history which has to date claimed 100 lives and recorded over 45,000 dengue cases.

It came as a shock to me, as it must be to all Malaysians, that 100 lives have been lost to dengue in the first 50 weeks of this year.

No mainstream newspaper headlined or even reported this shocking news or that the country is facing the worst dengue epidemic in history, which has been confirmed by the latest dengue statistics by the Director, Disease Control Division, Ministry of Health, Datuk Dr. Hassan Abdul Rahman yesterday that dengue fever claimed two more victims last week, bringing the number of fatal cases in the country to 100.

Dr. Hassan did not give the latest total number of dengue cases  in the country as on December 13, 2008 when they have also established a dubious new record of exceeding 45,000 cases – which is another shocker that the total number of dengue  cases have crossed the  40,000 mark even before the full year is over.

Liow should explain why there is a conspiracy of silence to play down the worst dengue epidemic in the country when he should be spearheading a nation-wide anti-dengue public campaign to save lives by reducing avoidable deaths as well as mitigate considerable unnecessary sufferings?

Liow should end this conspiracy of silence by spearheading a nation-wide anti-dengue campaign as well as making public all  the available facts and figures about the worst dengue epidemic confronting the country, with week-by-week data of dengue cases and fatalities, not only nationally but also on a state-by-state basis.

It has been reported that Malaysia has the first fatal case of Chikungunya, which was completely unheard of recently.

Again, no proper ministerial leadership had been provided by Liow to educate the Malaysian public about this emerging disease in the country.

It will be sad and tragic if the Health Minister of the country is only interested about Sime Darby Bhd's takeover of the National Heart Institute but not concerned about maintaining high standards of public health in the country.

Lim Kit Siang

Datuk Dr Hassan is a Datuk first before he is a Doctor so his priorities are totally in other areas where two legged mosquitoes breed! I wont be surprised if a police report is made against the reporter for writing the number of cases currently. We all also know the priorities of the Tsarist Home Ministry! Do they care if one died in the backwaters. To me the figures are much higher! When has the govt ever spoken the truth! Truth kills the mocking bird!

Health minister claim no definite cure. I guest he meant live or die depends on the victims' immune syatem.

Check out sodium chlorite, it kills pathogens with no known side effects, meaning all the so called incurables can benefit from it. AIDS< HEPATITIS< CANCER< DENGUEetc....

I am sure many personnel in the Health Ministry knew this secret but chose to keep quiet along with their bosses. Where is their conscience? Don't they realise that in keeping silent about the dengue epidemic, they are allowing the disease to spread wider and kill more people?

Dont blame the Government for what is basically an attitude problem of Malaysians. Whether out of ignorance or incompetence, they cannot even maintain their own environment in a healthy state This same attitude turns Malaysian beauty spots into rubbish tips and the suburbs of KL into stinking, littered, rat infested excuses for a civilised city

Liow Tiong Lai is just another accidental minister, like Ng Yen Yen. Just becos there is no more talent in MCA they anyhow gave out ministerial positions and Liow landed himself one out of gratitude from Ka Ting. Why this gratitude? It was for Liow's snoop squad activities that Ka Ting managed to destroy his enemies. Liow is just another no good MCA dog. I think we call him "snoopy". Where he has time to study dengue statistics? He is too busy snooping around still because Soil Ek is back. Simple way out for MCA ministers like Liow and Tee Keat, just place PKFZ and Dengue stats under Official Secrets Act like Plus and LDP concession agreements. Then no one can question.

READ THIS AND FIND OUT WHY WE GET HEMORRHAGIC FEVERS AND DEATHS,DENGUE IS ONE OF THEM

http://www.orthomed.com/dengue.htm

quote:"What escapes me is why no one at CDC will try massive doses of ascorbate on severe and fatal hemorrhagic diseases. When one realizes how much ascorbate is destroyed in the sick persons body and that this destruction is proportional to the severity of the illness and when the hemorrhagic fevers exhibit many of the symptoms of scurvy, why they will not try massive doses of ascorbate. There has never been a study using massive doses of ascorbate that proves it is not helpful in these conditions. They satisfy themselves with tiny studies of such ridiculously low doses that they would never ameliorate anything. The sure way to get a study published about ascorbate is to use low doses that will never work. The problem is that this attitude will kill millions over the years." quoting, the late remarkable Dr Robert Cathcart.

Yesterday, the Liow-Liow commented something about the Sime Darby-IJN take-over; in positive stance. Mamaakthir's 'PRIVATIZATION' for cronies, cronies related and relatives have already begun!

Finance Ministry owns how many percent in IJN? And, who jumped from Helicopter Ministry to Finance Ministry? Very fast move indeed. Tomorrow, when he decides to jump to the Ministry of Health, all government hospitals will also be privatized and LIOW-LIOW who became the Deputy after the reshuffle will also be laughing all the way to CIMB.

Four members of my close family in Muar including me were down by Chikungunya in June and July. Only my mum was hospitalized and officially reported as one case. Three othher patients are no reported as Chikungunya patient.

Almost every house in my kampong has at least a member infected by Chikungunya.

The actual figure on Chikungunya pandemic disease shall be at least ten times higher than official figure published by the MOH.

Liow Tiong Lai is a "tak boleh pakai" health minister compared to playboy Chua Sok Lek.

densemy,

Yeap!!..sokong 100%!!

KEBERSIHAN..

Ini yang rakyat Malaysia susah nak bendung. Aisey kawan2, mentaliti ini dah sebati dah dalam masyarakat.

Usahlah Lim Kit Siang nak cakap tentang kementerian pelajaran..lihat DAP sendiri, mana kempen banteras nyamuk?..takde pun!!
