Still no PAC report on Eurocopter inquiry - will Azmi emulate Indian Home Minister and resign? PDF Print

On November 11, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Datuk Seri Azmi Khalid had promised that the PAC report on its inquiry into the RM1.6 billion Europter deal would be tabled in Parliament "in two or three days".

How can Azmi's interpretation of "two or three days" be so elastic as to stretch to three weeks, and there are still no signs of the PAC report on its inquiry into the Eurocopter deal although it is now close to 50 days since Azmi first made the public announcement that the PAC would investigate into three scandals which had shook Parliament and the country – the Eurocopter helicopter, Bank International Indonesia (BII) and the high speed broadband (HSBB) deals?

I had intended to table a motion to debate the PAC report on its inquiry into the Eurocopter deal with Parliament having to make the final decision whether to accept or reject the PAC report and recommendations, but this PAC report must be tabled in Parliament latest by Wednesday, 3rd December 2008 so that I could give the necessary 14-day notice required for a motion to be debated on the last parliamentary sitting of the current budget meeting on December 18.

It is useless for Azmi to table the PAC report on the Eurocopter inquiry after December 3 because it would not be possible for MPs to give the requisite notice to debate it as a specific motion.

Can Azmi table the PAC report on the Eurocopter inquiry latest by Wednesday on Dec. 3?  What has happened to Azmi's announcement that PAC would be investigating into the other two scandals – the BII and HSBB scandals?

What about the new scandals that have surfaced in the past weeks like the RM50 million financial scandals of Tourism Ministry's Pempena Group of Companies?

It would appear that Parliament would have to launch an inquiry into the manner the PAC is inquiring or not inquiring into the various government financial scandals and Azmi's leadership or absence of leadership as PAC Chairman.
Is Azmi prepared to emulate the example and culture of responsibility as illustrated by the Indian Home Minister, Shivraj Patil who resigned over the three-day terrorist rampage in Mumbai that killed around 180 people, including a Malaysian, for his dismal failure as PAC Chairman?

Isn't it typical in Malaysia that facts are kept hidden from others. The least the people know, the better for the BN government.

Talk about the Indian Minister resigning! Many of our Malaysian Cabinet Ministers should have resigned long ago for the many sins committed against our Malaysian people. But, maybe they think they are too indispensable? Isn't that stupid?

Come to think of it, even those that had been implicated in scandals are still holding on to their posts. Even a deputy chief minister fined for corruption in the Court of Sabah is still clinging to his post - How shameful!

Worst still, we have an ex-Premier who thinks he is still wanted by the people and is going all out to put those who he thinks are good to be in the government to run for top posts in UMNO. Dear. dear where will it all end up to?

LKS, Do you hosestly think that this UMNO stooge is that efficient? Take it with a pinch a salt whenever they mention a time period. Same goes with that deputy speaker recently. There is such a thing as UMNO time in Malaysia boleh which could be infinity.

It will look like this....
1, The commission is already in their pockets.
2, The deal is put on hold until Aminah's boyfriend comes to power.
3, PAC have been told not to release any information .
4, The deal look very 'messy',too messy for the rakyat to know.
5, The price of this 'under table deal with lights been switch off' is
high.
6, If this is released now it will have very damaging effect on that boyfriend of Aminah.

So guys, that why PAC put the report in the shredding machine.

Azmi & the bunch of UMNO thieves regime really hope that LKS will forget totally this Eurocopter issue as the inquiry report will expose their bloody sucking mechanism being adopted all this while. Azmi must be regreted in promising the report done in '2 to 3 days'.
Najis probably need the money urgently to pay off Baginda for his help to cover his ******* during the recent PC.

The sky has to fall down before azmi Khalid will resign. It is a well known fact that once an UMNO member gets to such a high position, he will stick to the chair until his death or retirement, whichever comes first.

Azmi Khalid apologises for the delay of the report because this time they find it a bit tougher to bullshit the people with excuses as everybody is keeping an eye on the inquiry.

Good try Uncle Lim but keep at it. If people can get away with murder, taking money is just like going to Bank Negara with the attitude, I got the key & I only take take 1% while my protectors take 9%. Crime in Msia for people in power pays.

Emulate the Indian Home Minister and resign? That's not UMNO's culture. The culture is that it is always somebody else's fault..... no need to resign; just find some one else to blame.Or it is the heaven's fault, not mine.
