By Shannon Teoh, The Malaysian Insider

It has been barely nine months since the last general elections, but the DAP is now readying itself for possible fresh elections with the likely ascension of Datuk Seri Najib Razak as the Prime Minister in March next year.

Its central executive committee has formed a standing National Election Preparation Committee headed by vice chairman Tan Kok Wai to plan and prepare for future elections.

Apart from activating election machinery in the traditional areas of DAP, the party will focus on building capacity in Northern Sarawak,” he said in a statement today, in view of upcoming state elections in what is widely accepted as a key battleground in the tussle between Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat.

This comes on the back of plans by Pas, its partner in PR, to ready itself for snap elections as well. These plans were mooted at the party's retreat in Langkawi a fortnight ago.

With PKR to hold its national congress next weekend, a similar statement will be expected from them as the senior partner in the tripartite opposition front.

Tan, the Cheras MP, said that for now, registering new voters nationwide will be one of the major tasks the committee has set out to achieve, with the participation of all state and parliamentary committees.

Also in the committee are national organising secretary Teresa Kok, national publicity secretary Tony Pua, political education director Loke Siew Fook and his assistant Jeff Ooi with Bukit Bendera MP Liew Chin Tong serving as secretary to the committee.

Oooh, please don't tempt me.... if it really happens it will be my dreams come true.

It would be like a second chance of a bite of the cherry. And this time around we, the rakyat, shall once and for all, shove all the corrupt and decadent BN goons out forever.

I rub my hands in glee and relish ..... yeah .... Bring it on!!!!!!!

Both PKR and DAP really need to cooperate in Sabah. If they did in the last GE, the political picture may have been very different. So LKS and DSAI please get rid of the trouble makers from PR in Sabah.

This can cost the opposition party a hugh number of votes if not sorted out before any snap elections are called! This is just another tactic to delay or not to allow the legal citizens their rightful entitlement to exercise their right to vote at elections. Be aware, this tactic COULD COST the opposition parties a HUGH NUMBER OF VOTES if the issue cannot be resolved before any snap elections are called.

This is a delaying tactic because if they do not possess the MyKad, they will not be allowed to vote. The NRD will argue and then, acknowledge error in judgement or mistakes by lower echelon supervisors/managers of the department and then will choose to slowly replace the green cards with the real MyKads and meanwhile a snap election will be called before any real significant number of legal voters are issued with the proper MyKads.....which by that time, the snap elections would be over!

Get a professionally experienced group together IMMEDIATELY to monitor and scrutinise the whole issue. Speed is of essence here if PKR wants to reap the rewards of these voters which the NRD is trying very hard not to register correctly!

Constant public announcements over all sorts of media on the tactics and progress of the activities of the NRD regarding our long lost voters of Sabah would hold them to own up to their efficiency and honesty and exposes any inability, dishonesty, inefficiency and corrupt practices of the department.

Only solid publicity will place the spotlight on them and when the spotlights are on them, they would then have no choice but to act appropriately and honesty to fulfill their obligations as required under their employment.

Otherwise, the rakyat will cane them thoroughly!

Not likely (but hopefully I will be wrong).
Najib will not risk it.
Calling for fresh elections within a year after the last defies logic.
Governments call for snap elections only when they know that they will win more seats at that juncture of time.
And usually it is halfway (or more) into their tenure, not before.
Why would they want to do so now?
To allow the opposition to possibly form the Government?
They might be racist but they are not that stupid (yet).
My two cents anyway.....

EPF 8% Means Paying More Income Tax ( For High Income Group )]
Assume monthly basic salary is RM4000.
- If your monthly EPF contribution is 11% ( RM440 ), taxable income = RM3560, income tax payable = RM77.
- If your monthly EPF contribution is 8% ( RM320 ), taxable income = RM3680, income tax payable = RM109.
Conclusion : If you choose to contribute 8%, you will end up paying more income tax to the government,
which will make the government richer. Finance Minister Najib said this measure is meant
to boost up the slow-down market, but from this example wee see that the money does not
go into the market. Instead the money goes direct into the government's pocket through
the greater amount of income tax that we will have to pay. Obviously this measure does not
help the market at all. Do we still want this kind of government that doesn't have the best interest
of the people in mind?

If Najid were to take over, there is definitely high posibility of a snap election, 6-12mths after Abdullah's handover.

Firstly, Najid has to show that he has the mandate from majority of Malaysians. In GE12, Pak Lah, instead of Najid, was the President of BN hence the candidate for Prime Minister. People voted Pak Lah, not Najid, to be Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Remember, in any democratic country, there is never a case that Prime Minister-ship can be handed over by one person to another. This is un-imaginable and totally against the principle of democracy.

Furthermore, in Bolehland, the Prime Minister actually is not elected by majority of Malaysians. The Prime Minister of Malaysia in fact is elected by majority of Umno 200 delegates. How can a Prime Minister of a country with population of 25millions be elected by a delegation of 200 people? The fate of 25million people is decided by 200 people. And consider the rampant money politic in Umno, what kind of person do you think in their potential candidate list? No wonder Malaysia always is laughing stock to the world.

Secondly, despite all the make-up and dressings, Najid suffers from all kind of scandals from sex to money to weapons ie Altantuyah, submarine, Eurocopter, etc that put his personal character and credibility seriously in doubt. The Prime Minister of Malaysia faces not only his fellow countrymen, he needs to face the world too.

He must prove his credibility. But not through the usage of Elite police force and C4 of course. At least certainly not through the deletion of immigration records. Swearing on Quran definitely is not enough because 45% of Malaysians do not practise Islam. (Besides, the act of swearing has seriously damaged the image of Malaysia's judicial system. How can a person swear that he's innocent, and oh he's proved innocent. Is this some kind of joke or what? )

We Malaysians do not want someone with personal character seriously in doubt to represent us. Never.

Despite all the slogans, all the infrastructure, all the money spent, to show that Malaysia aims to be advanced country, what Malaysia really needs is to uphold the true democracy and liberty which is the cornerstone of every first world country.

Give me liberty or give me death!
