No surprise that MPSP is nearly broke PDF Print

So there are questions being asked about what happened to the RM225 million in reserves held by the Seberang Prai Municipal Council (MPSP). Today, the MPSP is nearly broke as Penang Gerakan chief Teng Hock Nan and Lim Guan Eng engage in a battle of words over the media.

But it’s not a big mystery really how the MPSP blew its reserves.

Some RM65 million was splurged on a new MPSP office building in Bandar Perda near Bukit Mertajam. On whose instruction? Then, there are all the expenses related to the new (white elephant?) Batu Kawan Stadium and a sports complex near Bukit Mertajam.

Apart from this, the BN-administered MPSP indulged in all kinds of “beautification projects” costing hundreds of thousands of ringgit while the basics such as proper drains for the whole town were neglected.

This is what happen when councillor or YDP are not elected but appointed. The are puppets to those who appointed them to power and act on their instructions and whims in awarding contracts at ballooned prices to lobbyist and cronies, and never about servings its rate payers.

And lets not even start going into the inefficiencies of the staff in the councils who a paid to do duplication work and enforce systems that further cripples efficiencies rather than enhanced them....

YB LGE should get a full and concise list of all wasteful projects, carried out by past BN government officials, and post them publicly for all to see and judge for themselves.
Stop mere hurling accusations and battle of words with these ex-officials as it is pointless and a waste of present tax-payers time.

Penangites were still smart to voted out the Corrupted BN/UMNO, while people in Johor, Pahang, Melaka, NS, Terengganu and East Malaysia are still sleeping.

Most of them will only find out their municiple or majlis daerah has been bankrupt in 2012 (if PR unable to take over earlier)

Without the emergence of Pakatan rakyat as the opposition party, the rampant corruption will still be buried 6 feet under ground.

I am sure everybody who voted for PR is pleased that all the garbage accumulated by UMNO/BN for the last 51 years are being exposed. Selangor has been the heavens for the previous menteri besars to plunder rakyat's money to their hearts' content till the arrival of PR...

We owe our gratitude to PR, and PR in turn, is grateful to the voters who voted for them.

I hope the voters shall bear with PR as they shall undo what the goons have done to the state of Selangor! It shall take time and perseverance.

Hats off to the menteri besar of Selangor for being there to clean up the mess!!!

The pathetic thing is not that there is embezzlement. The pathetic thing is that these people in power, these decision makers are not tried in court like Thaksin, the Japanese and Taiwanese Premiers for corporate crimes. They are let off scott free!!

see how the car claim of RM 620, government have to pay to post office 30million just for distribution of payment?

Government should use their own resource (like EPF/Income Tax office/Majlis Perbandaran and alot more) to distribute this payment without have to rugi 30million of our tax payer money.

Why vote for stupid people to manage the gov. and waste our own money to SIL company.

Stupid gov. to privatise a monopoly company. The MD should be sack instead of privatise it due to losses.

money corrupted people have no cure. always find a reason to earn more. by implementing rules and regulations.

MPSP comes from Gerakan rules period. ask Hock Nam/KTK to sell Pau to repay back lah. do you think Gerakan care for rakyat during their time before GE. They are in the comfort zone. play mahjung everyday. and build kingkong road in Penang.
