Have you ever had to choose between two options only to discover that the choice you made led to a baptism of fire that challenged you in ways that you never imagined and showed you that there are people out there who care, even those whom you have never met? I have. I am going through fire now and I pray that I emerge from this baptism of fire and testing a stronger, more resilient and wiser person.
For many years, I kept silent about current issues in Malaysia. Trapped in the closet of tradition and obligation, my tongue was bridled and I stayed away from voicing out my views, largely because my late dad was pro-establishment. I live a very private life so you can imagine the horror I feel knowing that my name and/or picture is in newspapers etc. All I wanted to do was to raise awareness about the need to repeal the ISA and I never for once thought that my participation in that event would propel me into a different dimension of existence and challenges.
In May, I started to blog at Writers.Inc. and in this blog by mid-August - an activity that changed my life almost completely because I found my 'voice' to make statements regarding issues plaguing the country. READ MORE HERE: http://masterwordsmith-unplugged.blogspot.com/
