Cuti Thaipusam bagi KL, Putrajaya PDF Print
Monday, 21 January 2008 06:51

KUALA LUMPUR 20 Jan.

UTUSAN

in Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan or Labuan F.T.,even Deepavali is not yet declared a public holiday.
Though Labuan F.T. has a small population of Indians,we must not forget that a lot of Peninsular Malaysians are working in Labuan, thus no atmosphere of celebration here.
Deepavali is a working day here in Labuan and just across, the mainland Sabah,Deepavali is a public holiday!

If KL gets a holiday for this taipusam, i understanda. But why in hell blazes should putrajaya get a holiday?

Isn't it a fact that 98% of the population in putrajaya are malay-muslims?

Does this mean, the malay-muslims of putrajaya have learn to respect other religions so much so that they are willing to give up a precious working day at their govt. departments? Have they started to appreciate the multi-religious nature of beloved country and are starting to show true brotherhood in religious tolerance?

Hmm....nahhh!!!....almost got carried away there.

The real reason Bodohwi wants an extra holiday for putrajaya is to increase his nap time. By declaring thaipusam a holiday in putrajaya, he and his goons can doze off an extra day.

Now it all makes sense.

No matter what Semi Value had to say, this is a clear victory for HINDRAF. What MIC couldn't achieve in 30 years ( Since Tun Hussein Onn days), have been achieved by HINDRAF in just ONE day. This is only one of the few 'feel good goodies' from the BN to please the unhappy Indians, planning to boycott Batu Caves this year. Contrary to popular belief in Malaysia, street demonstrations do not lead to violance but make the government to 'sit back and think'

Samy Vellu and MIC are trying to take the credit for pushing Pak Lah to annouce Thaipusam as a FT holiday..yeah right..Its all because of the efforts of HINDRAF..
Samy Vellu, enough of lying to Indians..you were given a chance..you did not perform, know gracefully step down so that someone else can do the job better..
Politicians are like diapers..they have to be changed frequently, both for the same reason..

I couldn't agree less with 4aBetterTmrw. Sami has been figthing for the last 20 over years but fail. But Hindraf only take 1 historiacl day on Nov 25. I expect more to come. Good lesson. May be we should have a CINDRAF next after what Suqiu's effort have failed and branded as communist.

Well done INDRAF for accomplishing what mic could not get done.

Don't be seduced by the bread-crumbs and token handouts to manipulate perceptions.
Wait and holdout for real meaningful durable results (rights, policies, behavior) by incumbent politicians.

Always make your judgments on real observable, measurable performances by politicians, not simply promises - watch the delivery.

Ha! ha! ha! This is really funny. It took 50 years to declare one public holiday??? It's very obvious that BN is scared of losing the Indians vote. But the fact is, BN has already lost 90% of Indian votes.

"Lembu punya susu, Sapi dapat nama" Frankly not many Hindus will go to Batu Caves this year after what that stupid Nadarajah did to fix those gathered during Nov 25, 2007 Hindu Rally at Batu Caves.

By the way are you all aware that this thief whose corruption case was sealed by Samy Vely when this idiot actually syphoned the contributions of Hindus from the affliated temples, namely Maha Mariamman temple in Jalan Bandar, Ganesha Temple(Near to Maybank HQ) and Batu Caves Murugan temple to live in a palace worth Rm4.5 million, New Mercedes worth RM900,000 and his son Siva @ Kana driving a sport car worth RM300,00. These bastards do not have jobs except to steal.

So by abstaining from Batu caves and fulfilling your prayers and vows this year in local temples respectively will show the unity under this 'New and realised Indians" under Makkal Shakthi. This wave through out the nation will show the BN and opposition if this Makkal Shakthi is ready to deliver at the polls. So stay away from Batu Caves even though PM had declared a holiday in Wilayah Persekutuan and Putrajaya with stupid MIC thugs claiming to champion for Indians. Only MIC Indians have benefitted all these years under chief thug SV.

We all remember that the same PM had the UMNO GA on Deepavali while the Kera Jantan Khairy instigated that Indians monopolised the distribution of the daily papers which affected UMNO from getting PM message across.

Well credit should go to the five Hindraf champions, now serving under ISA and the one in London in their struggle to speak the truth on the plight of non MIC Indians Hindus with non-violence. Long live the wisdom of Ghandi Ji.

Holidays ain't going to get this community out of their marginalization.
(but a step in the right direction).

Why don't they focus on fixing the more high priority and meaningful issues like education and student loans, citizenship and IC documentation, etc ?

(oops forgot ! - better to serve-up big-moves on small issues, and small moves on big issues)

MIC fought more than 20 years for Thaipussam Holiday, Hindraf just make one demo and cost 5 people in ISA and 1 stranded outside the country, they get 1 day Holiday for KL.

Imagine if they do 5 demos and sacrify 25 more people, what else could they get? Ponggal Holiday, Free education for Tamil school, nice condominium in estates, Indian University of Malaysia and Malaysian Indian Bank Berhad.

Now Chinese can start planning for a Hindraf-like demo and after few weeks or months, they will get holiday for Chap Goh Meh!

Malays??? You already got NEP ma...shut-up la!

I can't help but roll on the floor in laughter on this. I can just see Putrajaya residents, 99% of whom are Malay, rushing off Batu Caves to celebrate Thaipusam! What is the Chief Priest of Hindhuri thinking? Does he want them to re-discover their long lost Hindu roots? ;-)

Why doesn't MIC ship all those Indians who gathered at the badminton stadium to Putrajaya to at least add some diversity to the population in Putrajaya? That way they can justify the Thaipusam celebration in Putrajaya.

I believe this is not what HINDRAF set out to do. They did not set out to get an extra day of holiday.

What they are looking for is not to be marginalised anymore. Please everyone focus on the real issue.

Though this additional holiday is a candy and a step in the right direction. There is a long way from tackling the real issue here. Only if the UMNO Government can be reminded that Malaysians are simple minded but we are not stupid really.

guys....may be it works out like this
1.thaipusam declared a holiday, not because of indians but because the traffic jam along the roads leading to the temple in wilayah and putrajaya because..because
a) there is an hindu temple in wilayah
b) AND a new temple is being proposed in putrajaya precint...thats why in future the roads in putrajaya will be jammed up and we need to declare a holiday in putrajaya.

now the question is which temple is it going to be announced in putrajaya

secondly, again the reason being traffic jam,
in future may it be OIC / ASEAN / G-7 etc or whatever meeting or conforance, People in wilayah and putrajaya will get another holiday.

or there won't be any of these organizational meetings in future in malaysia, because the government needs the road for more future traffic usage of hardworking malaysians or betterstill for more gatherings to voice out the inefficiency of the government.

any how thanks to hindraf, my utmost respect to you guys out there,.
