(mStar Online) - ALOR STAR: Kedah kemungkinan menyaksikan pilihan raya kecil, yang pertama sejak pilihan raya umum ke-12, berikutan keputusan mahkamah mengisytiharkan Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Kuala Nerang, Datuk Syed Sobri Syed Hashim muflis.

Timbalan Pendaftar Najwa Che Mat telah mengisytiharkan Syed Sobri sebagai muflis 3 November lalu.

Syed Sobri dikatakan gagal menjelaskan hutang bank berjumlah RM100,000.

Beliau enggan mengulas apa-apa mengenainya.

Syed Sobri memperoleh 7,856 undi.

Bankrupted for 100,000K...? And then a million ringgit election........the courts must look into all these bankruptcy petitions banks present... they usualy get it by a judgment in default in lieu of subsitituted services.....Our banks ......Lehman brothers and Fannie Mae got away with the public's money and the banking system in the US had to be bailed out by the American public. The concept of bankruptcy in today's economics is meaningless. The greater challenge is how to make the system work so that more money can be generated. Not kill the generator. In the words of Mohamed Yunus..Father of Microcredit/ Ah Longs.....no one is useless.....it is usually the system...Perhaps MPs should start looking at our ancient bankruptcy laws....Otherwise in the coming financial crisis....we are going to have by elections every two weeks.

Only fools suggest that thieves and liars be given free/cheap money to avoid bankruptcy.

An intelligent man like Mohamed Yunus would not have said that. He only believe in helping hardworking, honest and poor folks, not thieves.

Saya sokong pendirian YAB Datuk Seri Azizan. Kurangkan politik dan fokus kepada pembangunan negeri.

It is good that it can be settled, but not RM100K from rakyat money as a solution.Ask this Syed to pay it back later from his pocket money.
