Altantuya case: Missing PI sought as witness (UPDATED) PDF Print

(The Star) - “Missing” private investigator P. Balasubramaniam, whose whereabouts are still unknown, and Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamarudin are among the witnesses sought by the defence in the Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial.

The trial has been postponed to Jan 15 next year to allow the defence more time to prepare their case and gather witnesses.

C/Insp Azilah Hadri and Kpl Sirul Azhar Umar, who donned suits, were supposed to enter their defence Monday against the murder charge. They had chosen to testify under oath.

Kpl Sirul Azhar’s counsel Kamarul Hisham told the Shah Alam High Court Monday that they wanted to call Balasubramaniam and Raja Petra with regards to their statutory declarations regarding the case.

Kamarul said there was no response from Raja Petra’s lawyers despite the many messages, calls and a letter on Oct 31 expressing their intention to interview him.

Kamarul asked for more time to locate Balasubramaniam as police were looking for him and to find out whether Raja Petra was willing to be interviewed.

“If he (Raja Petra) is not willing then maybe we can ask the court to subpoena him,” he told the court.

Meanwhile, C/Insp Azilah’s counsel Datuk Hazman Ahmad told the court they needed more time to prepare his client and asked for leeway to settle a backlog of cases which had to be postponed due to this trial.

“We have not gotten the witnesses that we need. We were supposed to meet the witnesses offered by the prosecution on Saturday but most of them were not in KL and two were in Sabah and thus we could prepare for today.”

When met by reporters later, Hazman said they would be going for the alibi defence for his client and it had nothing to do with Raja Petra or Balasubramaniam. He would be calling eight witnesses.

Kamarul told reporters they may submit the statutory declarations as evidence if Balasubramaniam could not be found.

Both lawyers, who submitted prior applications for the postponement, argued in court that the prosecution took one and a half years to submit their case and thus the defence should be given time to present theirs.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Tun Abdul Majid Tun Hamzah told the court that he did not object to the case postponement but said they would object to the defence’s intention to recall some of the prosecution’s witnesses including Balasubramaniam.

High Court Justice Mohd Zaki Md Yasin said the matter of calling Balasubramaniam did not really arise if his whereabouts are unknown.

Abdul Majid said he had instructed investigating officer ASP Tony Lunggan to locate Balasubramaniam.

“Until (Sunday) we could not locate him. No one is occupying his house in Rawang anymore,” he told the court.

Justice Mohd Zaki fixed the trial date from Jan 15 next year and said it would continue until the trial ends as he did not want any more postponements.

The two accused, who were Special Action Force (UTK) operatives, were charged with murdering Altantuya at Mukim Bukit Raja, Selangor, between 10pm on Oct 19 and 1am on Oct 20, 2006.

Political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda was acquitted of abetment in Altantuya’s murder on Oct 31.

Dear RPK,

Please be careful with the two defence lawyers. After interviewing you and knowing the evidences you possess, they will ask the police to confiscate those evidences and destroy them. They r a bunch of crooks! Especially defence counsel Kamarul Hisham.

Yeah, Najis does not know anything, but the rakyat wants Syed Donkey, IGP, AG and those in the government and responsible for the case, including PM please answer the following simple questions: -
1. how come immigration records can be erased, any investigations?
2. how come C4 can be obtained, any investigations?
3. how come bala can go missing from Malaysia and the government don't give a damn?
4. how come the 2 police officers have to appear in court with faced covered?
5. how come the 2 police officers who are total stranger to the murdered victim have to commit such a cruel crime against her? what is the motive of killing? cannot kill someone without a reason or motive lah, so who is behind all this?

Any dumb ass will want the above questions answered, if not answered in Malaysia, then maybe those morons involved will have to answer it at the international court then.

Frankly, is PI bala dead or alive. That is the question??? As it is, he has
vanished from the face of this earth. His face looked battered during his second
SD press conference. And he looked distressed and left in a hurry.
So where is he Now????
Will there be a habeas corpus for him to appear in court???

very simple questions,
why bala hav to be put away??who wants him to be put away??who has put him away??who knows where is bala now??why bala made the First SD in the first place?why, what n who made him to come up with Second SD??
well,if bala wants himself to be put away;
let him declares to the world on it out in the open in person!let the defense's lawyer talk to him whether he is testifying or not!

It is highly probabale that like many high profile cases - kes kena buang. Anti-climax again. Hey, what happen to ahmadneil, was he just teasing us about his Mongolian "expedition"?

Among the witnesses that a defence lawyer is seeking is Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamarudin and “missing” private investigator P. Balasubramaniam, whose whereabouts is still not known.

Have they looked inside Rosmah's closets? They might literally find him as one of many skeletal remains in there.

Bala is rightly fearful to return.

I suggest the Royal Malay Regiment escort him to Bar Council auditorium where he make a statement , similar in the way done by Dr.Osman of Pusrawi.

Please do not be hasty to judge, lest you be judge hastily. We must accord due respect to the court of law. Especially in light of the recent few judgments which we must agree has seeded hope of a judiciary ready to uphold and dispense justice without fear or favor. Let us do our part and encourage this new found courage and vigor.

Bala was courageous when he made his 1st S D however, only to retract the 1st version and hence the contradictory 2nd S D.
He's missing?
If he'd eloped the govt and country, by now he should be somewhere safe.
Having shown courage before, one would imagine that he would try to establish contact with, at least, some of the people he'd trusted before like his lawyers or even MT.
His family would have drummed up support from various avenues, to investigate into his disappearance!
Have they?
And the Police?
No, they aren't interested at all too since they were the last people that met him!

There is nothing that is transparent in Malaysia!

Conclusion : The only thing that is transparent are those glasses on the Petronas Twin Towers.......but then again, even all those glasses are also tainted (corrupted)!

If anyone wants to shut up somebody's mouth for good without having to pay duit kopi, for the price of a single bullet, and he is gone!!

I fear for Bala and his family's lives. They might be rotting six feet underground. Everything is possible..

Our late Attantuya met her demise the easiest and the fastest ways. it is a pity there is no bury ground for her since her body is scattered all over the place in powder form.

So what we can do is to use vacumm cleaner to suck up all the tiny-winny bit and pieces among the sand and dry leaves, plus some old tree barks. Then we bottle the powder and bury the bottle under the shaddy weeping willow tree.................

....Attantuya is thrilled....she sighs,.....at long last she belongs somewhere,

let it be under the tree, that weeps all day long and all nite long.....

at least she could rest in peace....and she quite enjoys the constant weeping

of the tree.... since it soothes her further into eternal peace..............

Start a "Find Bala" Campaign.

Offer him strong sized rewards and immunity from Malaysian terrorists.
Allow his testimony from whichever nation he is hiding in.

Wonder if he was given some carrots packaged with some ultimatums ?

This case oso very simple one lah. BarusuperMana definitely cannot be found and INTERPOL cannot and will NOT trace him AT ALL!

KOWTIM already, Be Cool! BarusuperMana is enjoyinf life in India with 1 Rolls Royce, 1 Jaguar, 1 Porsche, 1 Maserati and 1 HELLicopter in his 100 acre ranch now planting and turning into vineyard.

His only concern is how to get a second wife without his wife knowing. He has learnt a lesson or two from Na-Jis through Lasak Pakinda about keeping a second fiddle, less he gets blown up himself by the wife.

This defence team and trial is all a waste of tax payers money. No need to mention lah, as long as 'I' don't get my millions, I will have to be a DATSUN SSS (Super Shit Stirrer) to try and see what offers come. Then, 'I' will say, OK, No case as we can't get the witnesses to show up in court. Please lah, stop all the Drama Minggu Ini. Today is 2008, not 1998!

Ok..To us Bala is gone... Remember his nephew who was 'jumping' up and down, when his uncle Bala made the 2nd SD and went missing..?.. Where is that guy..??

Then where are his relatives..?? So many of them,,..???..Where are they and why are they quiet..?? Not so easy to C4 the whole bunch.., don't you think so..??

Bala must have been either threatened and paid off, or he's gone underground after receiving some payment, for being a 'good boy'..

Anyway, Bala, surface lah, - Tell the truth and shame the Devil.. Be brave..The Rakyat is with you and Family... Follow the path, that the good Burmese Doctor took.. We will remember you..
