MCA’s Ong: Have all Malays benefited from the NEP? PDF Print E-mail

PETALING JAYA: Advocates of the New Economic Policy (NEP) should spend time responding and addressing the concerns of the Malay masses considering it is a common question now on how the policy has benefited them.

MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat said there were concerns that the NEP advocates should identify the factors that led to the failure, if at all it was true, in achieving the 30% quota.

“Nonetheless, much to our dismay and chagrin, they have merely been parroting what they or their predecessors have said in the past three decades,” Ong said in his blog.

Ong said the advocates should take a closer look at the prevailing hardship of their own brethren at the lower rung of society.

“The pertinent question to be asked now is: have these people ever benefited from the NEP in the past three decades?

OKT, you sound like a broken record played over and over again. When will there be a more concrete action taken. Is it a NATO (No Action Talk ONLY) thing only. We are sick of the Wayang Kulit you bunch of idiots (Gerakan & MIC included) has been displaying for so long. No point raising the same issue but in the end back to square one.

Of course they have. They now can visit the Ministers richly decorated homes during Hari Raya, and see all their wonderful "Peruntukan Melayu" in good hand. Never mind that they live in Wooden huts while the ministers DogHouse is nicer and more expensive than theirs.

You want a better Malaysia? Get RID OF UMNO TODAY !!!

MCA and Gerakan, if you really believe in what you're saying, then why don't you guys give an ultimatum to UMNO? Perhaps along the lines of "Abolish NEP or else we are quitting the coalition"? No point releasing press statements every Monday morning saying the same thing.

I am not even going to drag MIC into this coz they don't have any balls at all to begin with.

I have never ever bothered about MCA, but to give whatever little credit due, this statement from OTK seems more incisive than the one made by his Youth Chief.

The statement by Liow Tiong Lai earlier, even while as valid, could also be intrepreted as a sandiwara with UMNO to steer both the Malays and Chinese back to BN, or even as pitching the Malays against the Chinese.

With the imminent return of Mahathir, we have to be vigilant of his style of falsely creating and grinding out a strident racial cresendo that precedes a clampdown on opposition members and activists.

We can only hope that BN goes down very soon.

mca n gerakan now just blabbering to incite racial discord btw the malays n the non-malays. if their intention is pure, just quit the damn BN. ultimately bn knows that majority of voters r malays. it doesnt matter if mca looses the chinese votes. end of the day as long as bn is in power they will still be able to make a living thanks to the corrupted bn rule aka umno.

The Star today reported a 17 year old boy named Mustakim Minsawi fell off his motorbike and died trying to apprenhend 2 snatch thieves near Dataran Merdeka. He was thrown off his bike after it was kicked by the thieves' accomplices who came out of nowhere. He died of head injuries. For his courageous act and thoughtfulness who put others above himself, Mustakim Minsawi is undoubtedly a HERO.

May I ask Malaysia Today to organise an urgent donation to help the family of Mustakim Minsawi who are in bereavement as I write this message. Bloggers please donate generously to our HERO.

The general Malay population not only have not benefited. They are now held to ransom by their lack of independence from UMNO that the only way a Malay can succeed in Malaysia is to join UMNO and polich shoes all the way up for hand outs. That is NEP. Of course there are those who benefited by playing along those lines of the UMNOputras like Johnny Walker Ling Liong Sik, Ong's old boss. This big running dog dont eat crumbs that fall off the UMNO table. He is fed big fat juicy stakes so he can sell out the Chinese. Similarly Chunny Wakka Samy and Lim Keng (saliva everywhere) Yakyakyak.

Of course all malay have benefitted to a certain extent but only a handful few got the major shares. The question is not whether malays have benefitted from the NEP,the pertinent question is whether NEP has been abused by the BN government to enrich their families and cronies.

There is one thing MCA is good for and excel in: perpetuate the power of UMNO and its ketuanan Melayu idealogy by being its servant stooge. Whatever comes out of the mouth of any MCA member is bulls...t! They have not only sold out the rights of the Chinese, but truly led us to to the slaughter chamber! It is because of MCA that Chinese become beggars in the land of their birth and UMNO remains in power to terrorize everyone and rob, rape and plunder at will.

Get rid of MCA and we get rid of much of UMNO's power.

There is only thing to do what MCA member talks: tell them to SHUT THE HELL UP and get lost!!! They are nothing but UMNO stooges! Phui!!!!
