The late Tun Abdul Razak engineered the construction of Barisan Nasional and brought back democracy to the country. Gerakan and PAS were among the new members of the coalition from Peninsular Malaysia.

Although PAS was forced to leave BN less then a decade later, yet, under Mahathir Mohamed, BN become much stronger despites some chaotic moments in Sabah.

BN reached its pinnacle in 2004, some said due to the new breathe by the new leader, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi whom during that time was famously known as Mr. Clean. While others believe the huge mandate was a way some Malaysian voters wanted to thank Tun Dr. Mahathir who left office few months before the election. I was among those who voted MCA Candidate in order to thank Tun.

When Mahathir made the announcement about his retirement, many who were neither strong supporters of BN nor believer of UMNO felt that the country soon would be facing an uncertain future. Although we do shared the sorrows and grievances faced by many due to strong and forceful policies on national security during Mahathir’s time, yet the majority cherished.

Despites all the so-called bailouts, we always managed to crawl back and stand up. Yes, during those times, we stood tall in the eye of the world. And Mahathir did it against all odds. Please don’t hide those facts away.

Nevertheless, if Mahathir were given another chance, forget about his age factor, but take into consideration how the aging world has fast change, I doubt he will be able to continue to serve us like before. He is one of a kind, yes, yet he is only a man for his era.

How else can you can you explain how one can bring such a resource rich nation to the brink of bankruptcy multiple times......Mahathir...is a first class rogue and conman.....22 years this country was cast with an evil spell.....there is nothing to be grateful about......

Yes, I can agreed to mafiaa BUT... if you dont let pakatan to rule, how would we to know pakatan and Anwar not capable of govening the country?
They may be new but I think they are capable of doing something for the rakyat.
There may be curruption still but at least something change to benefit back to the rakyat.
No doubt and no one can denied that mahatir has done for malaysia to make it well known to the world but time changes.
We have to follow the trend to make malaysia more capable to the world not only well known to them but more harmonies on what we called a multi racial country.

Every UMNO goon knows UMNO will die of self-destruction due to horrendous corruption, scandals and abuse. Every UMNO goon knows they must reform in order to survive. The funny thing is none of them is willing or has the remotest ability or moral ground to change themselve or to wipe off corruption.

On the surface, UMNO goon said money politics is bad, corruption and money politics will destroy the party and country, yet every single one of them can't survive without them. During his era, all of Asia experienced good and strong econonic times. Our Malaysia was a land of milk and honey and you did not need to put a rocket scientist to rule the country for the progression which it eventually enjoyed.
In fact, I believe we would have gone much further if we had done away with the '10 percent' man.
His egoistical, conceited, self-centred stupor resulted in many instances of our country being the laughing stock of the world. Don't for one moment think he was so such a great man to have put us on the map with the twin towers and the KL Tower. Have you thought about how much richer 10 percent of the project cost would make anyone of us?
On Najis:
His past, present and future unconfessed sins will see his downfall. The intent of the Umnoputras to continue with the pilferage of our land will conclude in their exit in the next elections. Can we survive their onslaught until then? Only time will tell.

Najib represents the worst aspects of the Barisan Nasional regime. There is simply too much scandal attached to him, to the point where he is unacceptable. He is a Lord Najib Vaderthir, minus progress, minus prosperity, and thats the last thing Malaysia needs while approaching a global recession/depression.

If he gets power, this means that Malaysia will have had rule by one family for almost as much time as Mahathirs reign. My nickname for that family is the Pahang mafia. What on earth do they know of the struggles of ordinary people, the Rakyat.

The result of their lack of capability, and lack of morality is obvious. Brain drain and capital flight will continue, unless they choose to reform. That means more than fancy words and deeds. That means being transparent, open and honest. We'd respect them if their lies were believable, but they lie so shamelessly that they cannot be believed.

Economic turmoil in the world will affect Malaysia, and in its wake, social chaos. Najib knows this. As a result, the only option open to him is to create the right conditions for a second Ops Lalang, and emasculate the opposition.

A man with brains, moral fibre, and a clean conscience should be able to handle political opposition. It is clear as daylight that because he has been forced to invoke draconian laws such as the ISA that he is incapable of this.

And Rosmah Mansoor, she is eyeing the position of Malaysias Imelda Marcos for a new Millenium.

In reply to Mafiaa's comment I would ask him/her to assess the performance of the Opposition in Parliament. They have caused the dodgy Europcopter deal to be cancelled. I know Badawi said it was for economic reasons but I'm sure he and his govt. do not wish it to be scrutinised by the Public Accounts Committee. The Opposition has also called for a debate on the ISA. As an Opposition PKR has been doing a very good job so far; it's keeping the govt. on its toes.

Well, I certainly hope those who will carry on the fight for Malaysians will outnumber those who turn back to vote for Malay supremacy in the next general elections.
As for Najib's legacy, granted all the scandals associated with him, being the reason for BN's end is a pretty mild description!!

Oh Pleeze....Tun Razak wa the engineer with Tun Dr M Racist in May 13 and the start of Malaysia Demise with all those NEP and Racist rules. Thank God he is dead but not Tun Racist yet. Please don't try to change history. None are worthy of the TUN. Their Ideology remain RACISM. In UMNO and in BN. Why let them exist one more day is a miracle. Get ready for years of suffering!
