I am an ordinary and simple man, living quite comfortably. During my college days, I was quite a rebellious fellow. That was about 25 years ago until I entered the work force and started my own family.

Presently, I still have to take care of my aged and ill parent and parents-in-law. And I have a school going child, attending extra curriculum activities, tuition classes, music lessons and etc, etc.

I have mortgages to pay. In other words, I have responsibilities toward my family and cannot afford to get into any trouble.

So, I would comment in my comfortable armchair at home and complain amongst friends in kopitiams:

REPEAL ISA & FREE ALL DETAINEES;
REFORM JUDICIAL SYSTEM;
MUST HAVE FAIR & CLEAN ELECTION COMMISSION;
ERADICATE CORRUPTION;
SUPPORT HINDRAF;
SCRAP NS;
WANT A BETTER MALAYSIA FOR OUR CHILDREN & THEIR CHILDREN;
SO ON & SO FORTH

But recently I found my balls and put them back where they belong. Great rejuvenation!!

Yes, what a great feeling! Being there at the PJ Sessions Court and the candlelight vigil at the Padang in front of Amcorp Mall, together with all the real jantans and sweet ladies, young and matured alike, who will not let YM RPK to fight alone for us.

Oops, I have to stop here. Just dropped my balls again and have to pick them up immediately.

And a very big thank you to Puan Marina, Mr. Haris, Mr. Bernard and many many others (my apologies for not knowing all your names) for taking the lead.

Warmest regards,
Mark L.

a good story, inspiring testimony...but do balls have to be the criteria for courage to champion the cause?

please warn the Rakyat. There may be evil forces at work trying to create an emergency situation in Malaysia, just like May 13. Banning Hindraf is just part of this evil plan. Let us not fall for this trap - stay united and stay calm...More http//*********.********.com

Dear Mark,
I truly understand the situation you are facing.
Well, it is not an easy task to take care of the elders for I have been thru with these and the family and esp the burden of mortgages.
Take it easy, Think of the compassion and Im sure you will be fine.
Going for a candle light vigil, I dont think you need your balls to be carried there. Just drop by, light up a candle, give some support and off you can be home to your kids in no time.
Well, dont drop your balls too many times, you might not even find it later.

I hate to paint a picture of doom and gloom, but now that Zaki is almost certain to be the Chief Justice, and the speaker won't allow for a motion of no confidence, the chances of Najib becoming the PM and lording over us with ISA has just increased, much to the glee of UMNOputras as they continue to plunder and pillage the nation of whatever little is left of its wealth.

In days ahead, there is every possibility that the Federal Court will find Anwar guilty of Sodomy II and incarcerated. In the meantime, UMNO will drive a wedge between PAS and DAP. Come next general elections, BN will regain their two-thirds majority. There will now be two reluctant pairs of hands on judicial reform, virtually zero chance of IPCMC, and probably a strikingly unindependent anti corruption commission in the works.

What you and I should hope for is then - will Pakatan hold together and continue rallying the people for a fair and just cause so that come next elections, we will really steamroll BN no matter how severe they resort to election fraud?

For the ordinary citizens like the non-bumis, they are not concerned about issue of right based on race in this country. What they are looking for is a place where all citizens are being treated fairly and equally. After 51 years, most of the people know that they can only depend on themselves to work hard for a decent living and save as much as possible to provide for a good education and future for their families. They struggle to make ends meet and pay their taxes to the government. They represent more than 8 millions or 90% of the non-bumis in this country who are no rich and earning a salary to survive. Only a small group of rich non-bumis hold 80% of the wealth but the race based politics and policies of affirmative discrimination blindly suppress all the non-bumis. They accept the fact that the government need to uplift the economic status of the rural folks with a sustainable assistance and solution so that they can be competitive in the future, but for those who have obtained the level of competitiveness, why are they so reluctant to have the decency to be fair and equal to all fellow malaysians? Is this too much to expect from them to be part of the competitive world?

But that's precisely the problem with all of you....NO BALLS !!!

Just ask yourselves these questions:

- how many of you follow proper traffic rules ?
- how many of you drink (over the limit) & drive ?
- how many of you try to bribe a policeman when you're in the wrong ?
- how many of you try to bribe a public official for material gains ?
- how many of you speak out at work or elsewhere, when something is not fair/right ?
- how many of you HINDARF guys (why HINDRAF - cos many HINDRAF guys responded to this) treat your wives or family right ?

Guys, before you try to change Malaysia (the World), PLEASE CHANGE YOURSEVES

Hey Brother Rigi9, why ask about Hindraf wives and family?....what are
you implying ...that Indians don't take care of their wives and families?
I didn't know that the Chinese and Malays were doing such a good job taking care of their wives and families.What with thier second wives and mistresses...
does that upset you? Well then,.. don't throw stones when you live in glass
houses.Most Indians do a damn good job with litle help from anyone...they
take great pains to protect their identity and culture.Don't just see things
from a narrow angle. Look at the Thaipusam Festival etc. It may not be to your
tastes but don't deny the culture is vibrant and alive despite the terrible realities they face in a country that looks down on them just because they are dark skinned. Yes brother...that's the only reason. If they were white many of
our serf brothers and sisters would be lining up to kiss their asses.

This apologist piece of random bird droppings masquerading as an analysis is an insult to all English speakers. Whom, I hope I am right ,smart enough to
distinguish the croakings of toadies and the moral wanking excercise that
the editor, who after much deliberation (yeah right!!) wrote.

Dear Mark,
Well said my friend. I wish I can bring along my friends, but I am very disappointted to say that all my friends refused to come out from their comfort zones. They fear and afraid that they would be arrested for being present. Gosh... I am talking about middle class and highly educated individauls who have no guts to come out openly to fight injustice. They complain a lot and said that they wanted to see changes, but they expect others to fight the battle for them. I am indeed very sad that I failed to convince them to participate in the candle light vigil. Anyway even if it means going alone, I shall be there to honour my plead to be there every Sunday. I have come out from my cocoon, what about YOU??? YOU??? and YOU??????
P/S: Today is my b'day and my one and only wish is that YM RPK will be set free real......soon.

I know the feeling - I only got my courage after reading RPK's articles. I am still not brave enough to meet the enemy head on but I contribute money to ensure that actions will still go on. I will participate soon (still scared!!! - sh*t)........ really.
