Nothing unites people like a common enemy! PDF Print

I googled this to see if I could trace the author of this sentence. Instead, I found many who had plagiarized it. I am not absolutely certain and I stand to be corrected but I think that the origin of my title came from a book: Frontsoldaten by Stephen G. Fritz in which he wrote, “Nothing unites people more than shared rage against something or someone”.

Anyway, my purpose is not to identify the culprits who used this rather catchy statement in their speeches, blogs, essays etc. After all, I’m doing the same here!

Last night was the first time that I participated in a candlelight vigil. I found out that there would be a meeting at Padang Timur in front of Amcorp Mall. At first, I browsed through this type of news, without a second thought, as I usually do. This time, I don’t know why, I was compelled to show my face there. Who cares if no one knows me? Why worry if I might feel out of place? Therefore, with a bit of nudging (read begging) from me, my son consented to drive me. I finally managed to rope in another person and we were three! Great, we would be a group and not feel so out of place.

This goes to show that MALAYSIANS can live together as one. All of us know that but some unscupulous politicians should learn this.

Remember our common enemies are not UMNO, MCA, MIC, BN, PAKATAN, PAS, DAP or any party. Our common enemies are;

1) Racist Politicians in BN.
2) Corruptions in the government
3) Abuse of power

Our Goal is to change them;

1) Reform the election mechanism so that Malaysians can directly elect our PM
2) Reform the judiciary so that it is independent and run by those capable and uncorrupted judges. It is better to put foreign or junior judges than a senoir corrupted Malaysian judges.
3) Reform anti-corruption agency and make them independent.
4) Reform the police and various government agency.
5) Make tender transparent and make sure we get the most cost effective choices
6) Revamp our education system and get the best to run it even if they are foreigner
7) Ensure press freedom
ther are many more but if the above get done we are on our way.

MAY GOOD PREVAIL OVER THE BAD.
MAY THE BAD GO TO JAIL.

"Nothing unites people like a common enemy" ... and that used to be the devil but I guess many politicians in BN have replaced the devil and run around in sheep's clothing (religious pretense) these days.
