Belanjawan negara 'outdated'

Ketua Pembangkang, Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim mendesak agar Menteri Kewangan baru, Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak agar membentang belanjawan negara yang baru.

Menurutnya di sidang parlimen hari ini, belanjawan negara sebelum ini yang dibentang oleh bekas Menteri Kewangan, Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi dianggap sebagai 'outdated budget' dan tidak relevan dengan krisis ekonomi dunia yang sedang berlaku ketika ini.

Belanjawan negara sebelum ini telah dibentang oleh Abdullah pada 29 Ogos yang lalu.

Tidak beberapa lama selepas pembentangan belanjawan negara, Abdullah telah melepaskan jawatan Menteri Kewangan kepada Najib yang juga adalah Timbalan Perdana Menteri.

Ucapan Anwar di parlimen hari ini adalah yang pertama sebagai Ketua Pembangkang. Di era pemerintahan Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad pada tahun 1998, Anwar adalah Menteri Kewangan sebelum dipecat dari jawatannya.

I would think that it is appropriate for DSAI to 'bentang' PR's national budget in Parliament.

Well, so now is his time to sign & award the Pahang Water Transfer Project to the 2nd lowest bidder which is RM150,000,000 more than the official lowest winning bid. How they are goin to manipulate this is another 'Malaysia Boleh' work of art. Total waste of public funds even coming from a consortium of international Consultants & Contractors. smilies/angry.gif

anban, if DSAI can show the world that the current budget is 'outdated', it is as good as passing a no confidence vote on the government.

If the budget is rejected by parliament it will mean that the government has no money to spend and that will mean the end of the government.
DSAI is smart.
Rundukonis is right - it will be the same as a vote of no confidence.

AAB knows he cant walk the talk on his splendid extravagant Budget. Thats why he hand over the portfolio to Najis who now scratching his head and sending denial message on our country's economic situation. Najis is more interested in cut the deal in Eurocopter.

Don't expect the UMNO-govt to take heed from any opposition proposal-lah! It never happened before, and it's not likely to happen now. How can you expect a Neolithic party like AMNO to understand the need to adjust to new developments in the economy. They always think what they do is the best--no matter how much you try to put some sense into their thick skull. It's the way they operate--the authoritarian style, of course.
