Anwar gets points for Sept 16 gimmick PDF Print

(The Star) KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Barisan Nasional leaders can’t wait for Sept 16 to pass to see Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s credibility diminish after failing in his bid to take over the government.

Anwar had set Sept 16 as his target date for getting the ruling coalition’s MPs, including those from the state, to cross over to the Opposition.

Sabah Progressive Party deputy president Datuk Raymond Tan said he gave the Opposition Leader top marks for building up a bluff that got people preoccupied.

But Sept 16 will come and go without any defections and change of government. He will likely set another date but people will believe in him less.

This will keep on going until he has no credibility, like the proverbial boy who cried wolf,” said Tan.

He said there was no sign of defections among Barisan lawmakers and Anwar had realised that he was in for an impossible feat.

But he got people to talk about Sept 16. And it will remain that, nothing more than talk,” said Tan.

Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club deputy chief Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin said he had “heart to heart talks” with Barisan MPs from Sabah, Sarawak and the peninsula and all had declared their intention to stay put.

Anwar knows all this is a gimmick. But he needs it to keep the hopes of opposition party members going. At the end of the day, they will be disappointed,” he added.

Bung Mokhtar, the Kinabata- ngan MP and Kinabatangan Umno chief, said he expected Anwar to come up with all sorts of “fantastic excuses” as to why he failed to meet his Sept 16 deadline.

Parti Bersatu Sabah information chief Johnny Mositun said Anwar should focus on being a responsible opposition leader instead of coming up with more dates as to when he would become prime minister.

The country has entertained his notions of taking over the government. But enough is enough. Let Barisan do its work of administering this nation,” Mositun added.

To Tan and Bung, say whatever you want. Both of you are not relevant anymore. Hey Bung, i came to know that the inhabitants in the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary are eagerly waiting for you to join them. Go join them, that's where you belong

Listening to bung radin in live parlimentary telecasts honestly I feel he is just a 'tong koh song' with no brain. Possibly selected (not elected) as deputy BNBBC because he likes talking, as other BBCs like to watch him, bemused. These sabah parties, not excluding those of Sarawak such as PRS, like the way how BN enriches the various party leaders. The rich resources of both states was siphoned off like there is no tomorrow. Gimmick or not, BN was trembling in fits! The dawn of new Malaysia is obviously coming.

Hidup PR!!

With the current Govt. so keen on race politics, I won't be surprise if there is any delay period.

Tun M has admitted that the majority vote rules in his earlier race based article.

I only feel sad that these people in power are unable to honour that. Maybe they have issues to take care of/hide before the takeover, who knows. Only God knows.

God Bless Malaysia for Malaysians.

My 2 cents worth,
Let us come to reality. Malaysian reality. A multi race peaceful country. Except for occasional and now more often hoo ha on racial peace by the ruling party, everyone else believes that racial unity is thriving and is there to be seen. Only the ruling party is unable to see that we rakyaat malaysia are unanimously together and LOVE EACH OTHER and are at peace with each other.
The present scenario in malaysia is NOT a TAMIL MOVIE nor a HINDI MOVIE, for the hero to inform the ungodly that he will finish them on a particular date and time and at the precise second the ungodlies are vanquished. Nope, if you do believe so than I suggest that you have been watching too much Mollywood, Bollywood and Hollywood movies.
When DSAI said 916, perhaps he meant it, if so, it would have been done. But circumstances changed, and the change was not a clean one(all of u can decide what is meant here by not a clean one) so DSAI had to set aside that plan and continue with his plan and not be regarded as a power crazy individual. Rather than that he has listened to the voices of peace and tranquility and set the date aside. The surprise is he still insists that he will tell us who the mps are. This is unbelievable and seriously part of a strategy which must be noted carefully.
A strategist or an illusionist would not reveal the true picture and would work behind a curtain of secrecy. The well read DSAI however plays a high game of truth laced with psychological attacks, serious planning with tinges of surprises, playing with the uncertainty of the political evolution but unravelling the plot to the initiated.
916 was a target for the rakyaat's hope, it was an attraction for the mp's concerned, it was an illusion two fold for the ruling government (1. The mp's could have agreed before march 8th. 2. It kept them guessing and guessing). 916 was a holy day for Malaysians.....a true technical birthday. 916 was a perfect day to be made a psychological target. And Dsai has played the target to its hilt. As an illusion 916 was not something insignificant, it was huge. so while everyone was looking at 916 someone has calmly moved all the check pieces in its proper places for the checkmate. Even now the suspense is killing me. Need I say more.

I wonder what type of threat or Goodies you use to have a heart to heart talk with them? And I wonder since when you have the time to talk to them? I tot the Taiwan trip is for agriculture talk.. not heart to heart talk...

And i tot previously you say that you don't Believe in the 916.. then why you have this heart to heart talk with them?

Why can't you walk the talk just like Zaid Ibrahim do?
