(By CHEN HUIJIAO/Translated by DOMINIC LOH/Sin Chew Daily) - Waited for 11 days, Ahmad Ismail was finally back. This is the Ahmad who sent the entire nation, irrespective of political affiliations, into unprecedented agitation, as he led a sports delegation to turbulent Bangkok.

He must have not anticipated that the public outcry has stemmed from his penumpang remarks. He definitely has not expected that someone like him, a previously unknown divisional chief of a political party, could send ripples across millions of hearts across the nation.

Ahmad was finally back. But his denial of wrongdoing and refusal to say sorry have further infuriated the public, showing that some politicians are indeed seriously lacking the mindset of coming face to face with the people sincerely.

He was obviously not aware that the public were looking forward to his apology.

Although his boss has apologised to non-Malays in the country on behalf of UMNO, the wrath has yet to be calmed down. In the end, the police have but to cite the Sedition Act, while UMNO contemplates freezing his party membership. But all these only serve to further aggravate public indignation.

The SMS we receive from the public have been demanding Ahmad to offer a sincere word of apology. The reasons why he could not be forgiven or accepted are because he disappeared, failed to see the hurt feelings of the public, and was totally indifferent. The damage wrought upon the public, who have been waiting anxiously for him to say sorry but yet to hear a sincere word of apology from him, has been deepened by his recalcitrance.

But even as he has returned now, he put the blame on the media, and wanted the media to shoulder all the responsibility. He showed no signs of remorse.

His recalcitrant attitude has inevitably made people think of former Taiwanese president Chen Shui-bian, who is being charged for suspected money laundering, and who has impressed the world with his "I'll admit as far as the evidence goes" attitude.

Actually, Chen has refused to openly admit that his wife remitted overseas more than US$700 million of balance from election funds. Nevertheless, with more and more evidences being exposed and turned against him, he has but to hastily admit what he has done. But, if there were any slightest deficiency in the evidences provided by his prosecutors, Chen will instantly deny, often dragging along with him some of his former allies.

"We don't want sweet promises from politicians, but at least when they have said something wrong, or made some wrong decisions, they are sincere enough to apologise."

Former DPP president Hsu Hsin-liang has put it very straightforward that Chen has two major character problems: he is too greedy for money, and is a master in evading responsibilities. The philosophy that he has been upholding in the money laundering scandal is that "if other people can be corrupt, why can't I?"

Even as many die-hard supporters still believe that all the charges against him have been politically motivated, Chen has obviously overlooked the Locard's exchange principle that physical evidences can never be wrong.

Fighting reality with ever changing lies is like crashing an egg against the rock. Consequently, most Taiwanese don't believe in Chen Shui-bian any more.

On the other hand, Chinese premier Wen Jiabao has chosen a completely different political pathway: He rushed to the disaster zone immediately after the Sichuan quake, offering his consolation to the victims. He comforted millions of injured souls, and allowed the disaster-stricken victims to once again see the hopes of life.

Soon afterward, he had to personally reply the letters sent by school children in the disaster zone, and attend the autumn re-opening of the provisional campus of Beichuan secondary school.

As the head of government of 1.3 billion people, premier Wen could have enjoyed the comfort of his air-conditioned office in Beijing, listening to the briefings by his subordinates. However, he chose to travel thousands of kilometres to the "Ground Zero" to offer a hand.

This is because he was well aware that face-to-face contacts could effectuate priceless spiritual dialogues. He knew that nothing came more important than to appease the victims' souls in a disaster.

Sincerity has been the oldest core value upheld by Man, and the most fundamental strength that brings about social harmony.

We don't want sweet promises from politicians, but at least when they have said something wrong, or made some wrong decisions, they are sincere enough to apologise. And this is good enough, really, instead of pointing the finger at the media for misquoting them.

Finally, if our political parties and laws fail to censure Ahmad Ismail for his ethnically inspired remarks, his arrogance and indifference will be etched deep inside the hearts of Malaysians, forever and ever.

I believe that chap cannot apologise because he believes he's right.
Perhaps it's also playing to the tune of his political supporters.
Or it can be a political ploy by the UMNOputras to stoke up racial tensions to enable a state of emergency to be used or the ISA

Are we having a Chinese lesson here or what? In Ahmad's case the buck got to stop at the highest person in UMNO. It is mo point asking Ahmad to apologise. It is just too late. The heart must apologise not the voice. To do that he must go on a road trip to the chinese communities, sit down talk to them, crack a few jokes, understand the Chineses and then apologise. If not you are just wasting your time & Admad's time too. As they said,"there are better things NOT to do".

Ini ialah masalah EGO seorang pemimpin. How can you ask your TUAN, a malay (Ahmad) to say sorry to the slave (chinese)? Kalau itu EGO boleh cari rezeki, keep it lah stupid ahmad!

I would rather advice ahmad to migrate to Indon or middle east whereby most of them are your bro and sis there since this RACIST guy doesn't like the non muslim.

The conflicting statements of Badawi, Najib and Ahmad Ismail show they are not interested in peace and tranquility. They are obviously not interested in a united Malaysia. They have been trying to stir, whip and rouse the sensitivities of Malaysians to a boil and they plainly have a motive for doing it! None of their statements are consistent. Everything they say are contradictory. Without consistency, how can they be believed? Can they be trusted to mean what they say?

The answer to this question is soooooo obvious...

Why should a TUAN, a tinpot govt, a dictator, or a "god" that can bleed... says sorry?

whatever they do, say or act, it will always be perfect...

because they are the tuans.....

The only way to stop the rot is never ever ever vote for them or their party or for people similar to these arrrogant bas.............d

Ahmad dares to be arrogant because he has our PM's balls in his hand. He knows PM needs his support in the forthcoming UMNO GA. Thus he can play ba**s with our PM. He gave PM an offer that our PM can't refuse which the whole of Penang UMNO support for his presidency.

Our weak and timid PM, with a gun in his head, thus has no choice but to support his demand and came out to show support for him without realising that this will reflect badly upon him. Our stupid sleepy head doesn't know that if he does this, he will lose the support of the non-Malays and even the support from BN non- Malays component parties.

There is a big difference between a preacher and a CEO. A preacher will always try to please his followers whereas a CEO will reprimand his subordinates if they go out of line with company policy even to the extend of terminating his/her service. No one is indispensable. In this case, PM needs Ahmad more than Ahmad needs PM. No wonder all members dare to make racist remarks, knowing that no action will be taken against them as some of UMNO leaders have done so before without any reprimand.

Mind you it has sent the wrong signal. More of this will surface later. When you don't terminate the cancer, the cancer will spread. This is going to be the case. It will turn ugly one day. This is no laughing matter!!!!!

This HISTORICAL FACTS as follows :

This Ahmad Ismail is actually not wrong to say Chinese in Malaysia were Pendatang.

What he has NOT say is that ALL MELAYU are also Pendatang ! The Chinese or rather their forefathers came from China , today's super power of the world.

The Malays or rather their forfathers came principally from Indonesia (Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi) as well as India, Cambodia and some from as far as the Arab world.

The Malays forgot that the real ''SON OF THE SOIL'' are actually the ORANG ASLI,IBANS,DAYAKS,KADAZANS,MURUTS,DUSUNS,ORANG SUNGAI....etc...etc.who were today convinently forgotten by Malaysian History books that this Ahmad Ismail had studied.

How dare he now claim that IMMIGRANTS has no RIGHTS when its the very like of his type that has ROBBED the real NATIVES.

Our message to Ahmad Ismail is this...SHUT UP WHEN YOU HAVE FORGOTEN YOUR HISTORY.

Cant you all see that UMNO convinently hide Malaysian HISTORY by making sure Malaysian History STARTS from the ''EMERGENCY'' and NOT before it like during the FIGHT against the Japanese and British for the independence of Malaya.

THIS IS TO SPREAD THE PROPOGANDA that CHINESE are part of the so call Communist/Chin Peng era and not as ''HEROs''...like the special''FORCE 136''which mainly consists of ''CHINESE FIGHTERS'' during the actual fight for independence against the Japanese occupation and later the British .

Now you know why Malaysian History books taught at schools starts from the EMERGANCY.....to paint a Negative picture of Chinese in the History of Malaysia...and unshamely trying to promote UMNO as the real ''hero'' in their so call fight for Independence....when in actual fact...the Malays were cowards at best...and worst...TRAITORs, by working with the Japanese to occupy and rule our Country.

Shame on you UMNO and BN for HIDDING these FACTS

Ketamadunan Melayu telah wujud di Lembah Bujang, Kedah. Dipercayai bermula sejak 300 AD.

To the arrogant and corrupt, admitting that you have made a mistake is a sign of weakness or a sign of incompetence. It is not the culture and in truth it can never be a culture for such a character requires inner strength. You need character to have such a character.
