NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is upset that some Blogggers are showing ‘disrespect’ by flying the Malaysian flag upside down. Actually, flying the flag upside down is internationally accepted as a sign of distress, not a mark of disrespect.

What the Prime Minister does not know is that Malaysia has been showing disrespect to our flag for more than 50 years. Amongst some of these displays of disrespect are:

1.    The flag should never be used for any advertising purposes.
2.    The flag should not be used as a drapery, or for covering a speaker’s desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general.
3.    It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use.
4.    The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organisations.
5.    The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.

There are of course much more but these five above already demonstrates in what way Malaysia has been disrespectful to the Jalur Gemilang. So what’s with this anger towards flying the flag upside down, which is allowed, when Malaysia, in fact, has acted disrespectfully to the flag since the time of Merdeka.

On the matter of whether swearing on the Quran is allowed by Islam or, in fact, violates Islamic teachings, since the so-called religious scholars appear divided on what is right and what is wrong, allow me to refer to the Quran, which is supposed to be the main guiding light for all Muslims.

In an earlier article (Inventing new religious rituals ), I already explained that even the Prophet’s wife, Aisha, was not asked to swear on the Quran that she is innocent of the allegation of adultery. If the Prophet himself did not condone the act of swearing on the Quran, where then did this deviant practice come from?

What did happen is that the Prophet received a revelation from God about what to do to either confirm or dispel allegations of sexual misconduct. You can read this in Surah 24 (An-Nur) of the Quran.

And as to what to do in the event of a dispute when two people say opposite things, which means one of them is lying, you can refer to Surah 3 (Al ‘Imran) Verse 61 of the Quran which explains it very clearly.

The trouble with these so-called religious people is that they are trying to gain political mileage with the sodomy issue in the hope that Anwar Ibrahim may see a much-reduced majority in the 26 August 2008 Permatang Puah by-election, or, better still, lose the election. They are therefore twisting what Islam says in the hope that the simple-minded Malay voters in Permatang Pauh can be fooled.

The Quran has warned us about such people. ‘Religious people’ since time immemorial have been exploiting and distorting religion for monetary gain as well as to attain power. Religious people are very dangerous. They know they have the confidence of the majority of the people who are not only simple-minded but place great trust on people perceived as ‘men of God’.

This is not only a problem in Islam but in all religions as well. Trust not these religious people. Many are fakes and phoneys. The Quran says these people will sell their religion for money. This is not what I say. This is what the Quran says. And would the Quran lie when the Quran is regarded by Muslims as the word of God?

(Bernama, 20 August 2008) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has described the action of a blogger in calling on his blogsite followers to fly the national flag upside down as a sign of protest, as evil. He said flying the Jalur Gemilang upside down could not be regarded as an act of mischief alone but a despicable one, what more with Malaysia about to celebrate its 51st independence anniversary.

"This is uncouth behaviour, showing no respect at all for the national flag. What is there to be angry with the Malaysian flag?" he said after officiating at the Third Scouts International Peace Jamboree, here Wednesday. "If there are Malaysians who want to take up the idea that came from the pro-opposition blogger, they are insulting this important national symbol (flag)," he said.

Abdullah said the blogger came up with the idea to fly the national flag upside down hoping that others would follow suit, without thinking of the implications. "It's all in the blog...only he can do a good job. He's simply creating trouble by coming up with dubious stories," he said.

It was reported in cyberspace that Kelantanese blogger Sheih (Kickdefella) had on Aug 3 launched a campaign to fly the Jalur Gemilang upside down as a symbol of the people's frustrations and as a signal of a nation in distress. He also wrote in his blog that "it is internationally accepted that raising the flag upside down is a mark of a state in distress. It is never a mark of disrespect."

Some bloggers and commentators quickly declared their support for the idea but many, including from the opposition, were against it as they felt the national flag deserved the utmost respect. A blog visitor wrote that in India, flying the national flag upside down as an international symbol of distress was unacceptable, and in fact an insult to the nation.

Abdullah, meanwhile, hoped the police would act on the matter.

*************************************************

Techniques in flag display

    * Hoist – the act or function of raising a flag, as on a rope.
    * Lower – the act or function of taking down a flag, as on a rope.
    * Half Staff or Half Mast – a style of flag display in which the flag is flown at half of the potential height of the available flagpole. Usually this is done by first hoisting the flag to the top, then lowering it to halfway. (Equally valid 'half-masting' is flying the flag at two-thirds of its normal height. This is especially applicable where the full height of the pole is not visible to most observers; for instance, where the pole is mounted on the roof of a building and the lower portion of the pole is not visible from street level.) This usually denotes distress or a show of grief, such as mourning a death. The use of 'mast' suggests naval use but typically the two terms are interchangeable.
    * Distress – flying the flag upside-down, or tying it into a wheft (wheft: used to indicate wind direction or, with a knot tied in the centre, as a signal).

Upside down flag is distress signal

North Country Times

(OCEANSIDE, 28 September 2001) ---- In the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C., Vietnam veteran Dana Rickard began flying his flag upside down, a move which he said caused him to be harassed by some people.

Rickard said flying the flag upside down is a standard military distress signal and was never intended to be disrespectful. "It means we need some help here. That's American heritage, it has nothing to do with saying anything bad about the flag," said Rickard, an Oceanside resident.

The United States Flag Code supports Richard's statement. The code formalises and unifies the traditional ways in which we give respect to the flag and includes the following:

•    The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing. It is flown upside down only as a distress signal.

•    The flag should not be used as a drapery, or for covering a speaker’s desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general. Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top.

•    The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard.

•    The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organisations.

•    The flag should never have placed on it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind.

•    The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.

Swearing On Quran: Mohd Saiful Not Imitating Christian Way, Says FT Mufti

(Bernama, 19 August 2008) -- Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan's holding of the Quran in his right hand when swearing that he was telling the truth, at a mosque recently, was not against Islamic 'syariat' (law) and should not be seen as imitating the Christian practice of swearing on the Bible.

Federal Territory Mufti Datuk Wan Zahidi Wan Teh who said this Tuesday, added that having similar religious gestures or rites should not be deemed as copying those practised by the Christians.

"For example, the Christian priests say 'Amen' at the end of their prayers, while Muslims say 'Amin' at the end of theirs.

He said Mohd Saiful's swearing was also valid as one made outside a court trial or "alyamin qhairul qadhaiyah" and not as "mubahalah" (swearing on the Quran) as reported by the media.

"This is because 'mubahalah' requires the agreement of the two parties involved as stated in verse 61 of the Aal Imran chapter in the Quran," he explained.

With regards to the ruling on holding the Quran when taking an oath, Wan Zahidi quoted passages from a religious book, "Fatwa Syarriah" by former Egypt Mufti Al-Sheikh Hasanin Muhammad Makhluf and the "Fatwa al-Sheikh Muhammad Abu Zuhrah" by Sheikh Muhammad Abu Zuhrah.

He said Al-Sheikh Hasanin also took the view of Al-Imam Al-Ain that "if an individual swears by mushaf (the Holy Book), or places his hand on it or said: 'On this Quran.....', then his oath is valid".

Wan Zahidi said this was also the view of Imam Shafie, Hanafi and Hambali.

He said Sheikh Muhammad Abu Zuhrah, in his book, said that "swearing in the name of Allah by placing one's hand on the Holy Book is valid."

"From these examples, it can be deduced that the oath taken by Mohd Saiful was appropriate and not against Islamic 'syariat'," Wan Zahidi said.

Mohd Saiful, 23, a former aide of Parti Keadilan Rakyat advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, had on Aug 15 took the "sumpah laknat" (swearing in the face of divine retribution) at the Federal Territory Mosque here that he was sodomised by Anwar at a condominium on June 26.

If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full) knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together,- our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!" - THE HOLY QURAN, Surah 3. Al ‘Imran, Verse 61

1. A sura which We have sent down and which We have ordained in it have We sent down Clear Signs, in order that ye may receive admonition.

2. The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication,- flog each of them with a hundred stripes: Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day: and let a party of the Believers witness their punishment.

3. Let no man guilty of adultery or fornication marry and but a woman similarly guilty, or an Unbeliever: nor let any but such a man or an Unbeliever marry such a woman: to the Believers such a thing is forbidden.

4. And those who launch a charge against chaste women, and produce not four witnesses (to support their allegations),- flog them with eighty stripes; and reject their evidence ever after: for such men are wicked transgressors;-

5. Unless they repent thereafter and mend (their conduct); for Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.

6. And for those who launch a charge against their spouses, and have (in support) no evidence but their own,- their solitary evidence (can be received) if they bear witness four times (with an oath) by Allah that they are solemnly telling the truth;

7. And the fifth (oath) (should be) that they solemnly invoke the curse of Allah on themselves if they tell a lie.

8. But it would avert the punishment from the wife, if she bears witness four times (with an oath) By Allah, that (her husband) is telling a lie;

9. And the fifth (oath) should be that she solemnly invokes the wrath of Allah on herself if (her accuser) is telling the truth.

10. If it were not for Allah's grace and mercy on you, and that Allah is Oft- Returning, full of Wisdom,- (Ye would be ruined indeed).

11. Those who brought forward the lie are a body among yourselves: think it not to be an evil to you; On the contrary it is good for you: to every man among them (will come the punishment) of the sin that he earned, and to him who took on himself the lead among them, will be a penalty grievous.

12. Why did not the believers - men and women - when ye heard of the affair,- put the best construction on it in their own minds and say, "This (charge) is an obvious lie"?

13. Why did they not bring four witnesses to prove it? When they have not brought the witnesses, such men, in the sight of Allah, (stand forth) themselves as liars! - THE HOLY QURAN, Surah 24. An-Nur

im a chinese and i think most of the chinese have this fear of PAS coz they were "painted" with the image of wanting to change Malaysia into an Ismalic country if they come into power. I said "painted" is the more i look into malaysia political scenerio, the more i felt it is actually UMNO who is trying to paint the picture to mislead people, especially the chinese. UMNO/BN always said they are fair or keep up the law, but what happen now? A guy swear on the quran and that's it? So whatever he say is correct in the eyes of law? And parade him to get votes? And the other guy who didnt swear on the quran is guilty? If in this case, why not just sack all the judges and abolish the court house? The first one to go is the AG, or whatever they called him since we do not need the so called "law people". What we need just a popped up from nowhere imam and a few copies of quran. What a joke!!! What a shame!!!!

Just a thought. Shouldn't the investigating officer and the solicitor general be swearing since their charge says that it was consentual. However, Saifool had sworn, albeit using filthy language in a house of worship that he was sodomised. He is adamant that it was against his will. Once that is sorted out, then and only then should we consider asking DSAI to swear. However, since either the police or Saifool would be lying, DSAI will never even have to swear. It just shows that the real 'dalang' is not smart and the whole episode should be just shoved up Saifool's rear. Then he can genuinely swear that he was violated.

"No matter what rebranding Umno, MCA and MIC do, they are in essence racist. The BN is nothing more than a collection of racist hypocrites. The results of the 12th General Elections clearly shows that the Rakyat (People) had enough of racial politics. The Rakyat says no to 'Ketuanan Melayu' (Malay Supremacy) but yes to 'Ketuanan Rakyat' (People's Supremacy). The Rakyat is also saying NO to the NEP and other race based discriminatory policies of the BN/Umno regime."

What type of campaigning is this? They started by framing Anwar. Then before nomination, swearing on the Quran. After seeing the crowd on nomination day, they bring all their top-guns. Anwar has only talked about issues in his campaign but for BN, Anwar is the only issue! DNA bill is being discussed when all the opposition parlimentarians are busy canvassing for Anwar. They use the ACA to arrest two state-assemblymen from Perak.
Now Abdullah says don’t create problems during election day. It is frightening! Because Abdullah and Najib are going to create the biggest chaos during this election! What are they up to? To disintegrate and destroy Malaysia!

25 years ago, whenever I was travelling overseas, I was always a proud Malaysian, happy to announce nationality. Sad to say, my patriotism pride has diminished slowly over the last two decades, thanks to the unrelentless 'apartheid-like' governance and increasingly race-based politics.

Instead of establishing a greater Malaysia, our leaders seems to be focussed on building a ONE greater Malay race. Priorities and goals of our leaders have changed over time and they are more concern about their religion, race and skin color. The very factors which are and will continuing to destroy our country.

25 years ago, whenever I was travelling, I was proud to tell other people of what we have achieved after independence and deep within I foresee a greater and more successful Malaysia in years to come.

25 years later, and instead of going froward, our beloved country has taken a step back and has yet to find the true meaning of being one country - MALAYSIA, a nation with one race, one culture and one language.

In the next 25 years, I worry what the future may hold for my children in this country.

I search The Penal Code, found nothing on offences for Flag !

The old Terengganu case where the 'Helmet Guy' was charged for burning the Flag What section of Penal Code was he charged with ?
He pleaded guilty under what section of the Penal Code?

Just curious & trying to recollect historical legal records to improve better perception!

Flags are neutral....more ways to show distress than give UMNO-BN fodder to attack your silly actions. Why give them a chance? Just show it, wear black on Merdeka 08!

Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan's holding of the Quran in his right hand when swearing that he was telling the truth, at a mosque recently, was not against Islamic 'syariat' (law) and should not be seen as imitating the Christian practice of swearing on the Bible.

Look at the photo again, he is holding the Qur'an on his left hand

I am not well verse in Islam teaching, but allowed me to comment what I know about another Religion ie Buddhism. This also has many divivant different sec will tell differently simply the understanding on the original teaching of the Buddha was written in many scripts and imagine after few thousands years the scripts may be interpreted and written differently. But never mind one must go back to the original text to understand the true teaching and not simply believe in what the so call expert in the Buddhism say. Even Buddha has say do not believe what I say but experience you self, even though Buddha only say what is obsolute true as he has gain enlightenment. Any way this is not the subject matter what I wish to say is this. To understand the true teachings of a religion one must not simply believe one human being say but we must use our wisdom and the only way to learn the scripture text our self and only through time and expirences one can understand the true and not just be easily manipulated by what the religion people say.

gctham, true Buddhism is NOT considered a religion; real Buddhists do not believe in an almighty God. Religions demand mandatory & non-negotiable belief in an almighty God.

The last time I checked with a staunch Buddhist, I was told, Buddhism is a way of life, not a religion. And she said, no, she doesn't believe in God's existence. halleluyah

Know what guys n gals, i do agree that UMNO has flushed itslef down the toilet. Irrelevant? For me personally, i agree. But for the makcik and pakcik in the kedai kopi ... dunno la. Their ideals are still based on race and religion.

For now, they see DSAI as the head of PKR, they latch on to it cos of him. They choose to overlook the non-muslims in the party. To them PKR is a malay party. What if they realise that the only Malay parties left are PAS and UMNO?

UMNO is on the backfoot. PAS is gaining strength. Even now its flexing its muscles by questioning DSAI's stance on not swearing on the Koran. Laugh la, to some, its a big deal. Comparitively speaking, get a devout Christian to swear on the bible. Same words, different book, most probably same dude up there. They'll probably shit their pants.

Yes saifol is a prick for doing it. The guy had a hot babe waiting to do him. Now that he cursed himself and his lineage, wonder if she still wants to marry him? (Anyone has her number? According to my religion i still got quota maaa!)

Regarding RPKs latest post, yes i believe there should be change. I believe we should be a secular state (surprising you non-muslims dont support me on this or you nak lepas tekak sendiri je ke?). I believe that in any party based on race or religion however noble the cause or current leadership, there will always be some extremists hiding in the wings. Leaders die, no matter how charismatic they are.

And i also believe that flying the flag upside down doesn;t do us justice as a people. Demonstrate, take to the streets, whatever. But don't la kasi malu. What? They eat shit so we should eat shit too issit?

Some of our grandparents and great-grandparents fought for independence as well. some held high posts in the govt. They fought to see that flag wave proud in the sky. Some were incorruptible, believing in ideals. When even rulers succumbed to economic enticements they dared to stand against tyranny (who say all royals are free from corruption? Eh, M2D oso ran series what on corrupt royalty.. envelopes under carperts anyone?)

Don't la. PR is about to win. However much i dont believe in politicians, they might bring a better future. Don;t give anyone a reason to take away the future.

A lot of the Malaysia citizens are actually very supportive of Malaysia and the up coming National Day. However within the loyalty and hope of a better Malaysia, there are ppl who would at any course or emotional, dispel changes that can improve the country.

I personally have gone thru that stage where I was a believer of BN as a proven party to lead Malaysia. Similarly in Singapore where the ruling party has never change, the ppl have put their trust in them hence never was there really an opposition strong enough.

However all that has change now since BADawi took over in Oct 03. Imagine if everyone hated the old Mahathir gov for lack of transparency and dictatorship, this is the same goverment that has won elections after elections. This shows the similarity in Malaysia and Singapore where ppl may complaint on the weakness of the gov but accepted them when it came to election.....WHY? My take is this, while some of us may not agree with the old Mahathir gov then but the progress and development was undenialble. Hence we would still give the old gov a chance with the notion of not giving them too much voice in the Parliment, where some voted for the opposition to ensure some noise were made without the intention of changing the gov.

However fast forward to the present Gov after one term, what have we really seen? To be honest, as a working class commoner I have not seen any changes like the way the momentum used to be. Not only that, we are seeing a very weak management where the ppl are allowed to speak at all levels of his cabinet and the best thing is they speak non coherently with the PM ideas. This shows lack of control or understanding of the PM's stand and policy. Very obvious he does not really have a direction and vision for Malaysia rather more towards his own survival. I hope he can accept the fact that the flag thingy is a protest and lack of confidence in his leadership. I believe the repercussion would be worst if the March election was held now.

Now they intend to ISA anyone (or change the law to get rid of) who sing, write and even read (since Shafee represent the future AG but I sincerely hope that he will not be) anything that does not please BN gov't. If we let them do whatever they want now, what means do we have in the future of stopping them from destroying Malaysia's natural resources and future?

The problem of Malays or Muslim, when they see people wearing serban and grow beard, they would start thinking that the people are very much islamic than theirs . This is happening if you are gathering at the surau to start praying, when the people with beard and wearing kopiah or serban, people will ask him to be a leader or imam . why?bcoz people only learning Islam on a skin . Not the essence of Islam . Thats whay when SighFool angkat sumpah, people start thinking to be mad and believe that anwar is guilty becoz SighFool is brave enough to swear on the quran . Let me give you sumthing to think . We as a muslim,we pray 5 times a day . This pray should be an indication that we are remembering God . And also we fear god . If sumone, let say SighFool, didnt pray 5 times a day,do you think that he is afraid to angkat sumpah?

Malays is always being fooled by their leaders becoz they dont follow what god says in Quran , "IQRA'", Means, please read in the name of God . Read bcoz you are looking for the truth .

"How little our leaders know"
What they do is to go with the flow
Changing one's mind to suit the opportunities
Is the hallmark of all the UMNO cronies

We fully agree that:

It is evil to fly the Jalur Germilang upside down!
The blogger who suggested this should be drowned
We should always fly our Jatuh Germilang downside up
When celebrating expensive events like the Monsoon Cup

Downside up flag flying is the patriotic thing to do
To support our PM and cronies, these paragons of virtue
“Flag upside down is a mark of a state in distress”
Flying downside up means that we should bless this mess

It is uncouth to show no respect for our nations flag
Although we may use Jatoh Germilang as a national dish-rag
To wash the sins, committed in its name, all away
Henceforth, downside up flagging is declared semua-nya OK!

I think Anwar will get more sympathy votes this coming by-election. Saifool's swearing on the Quran and the arrest of PKR exco members during this by election do not fool the majority of ordinary people both outside and in Permatang Pauh.

In fact all these attempt by BN will backfire and Anwar should be happy with these. If all these were done any other time rather than now it would have been more creditable.

Read my column that Malaysia Today refuses to publish.

Title: "Does Lebanon's sad fate portend Malaysia's future?"

Malaysia in 2008 has many of the trappings of a successful state. Superhighways, reams of soaring skyscrapers, with the dazzling twin Petronas Towers at the center of Kuala Lumpur, usually never fail to impress tourists or visiting foreign dignitaries. These visible signs of progress show Malaysia as a genuine economic success story, but how did this economic success come about?

The truth about this success is not permitted to be published in Malaysia's Muslim slash government controlled press. In actuality, Malaysia's economic growth has little to do with its majority Muslim population, and everything to do with its large, dynamic and entrepreneurial non-Muslim population.

Now you see why religion should not be associated with any government or country. Religion is personal between you and god. God is not here to judge us except at death. No man is perfect and as such you cannot judge and past judgement on others unless you are the chosen one.Everybody is interpreting religion according to his or her understanding. No one knows the actual intention or meaning of the words in any religious text. Scholars do not have the right to say what is right or wrong and that is why we have common law to to be used in this world and the law of the various religious books will apply only at death.

An Apology to RPK

I would like to take this chance to personally apologise to Raja Petra.

Earlier today in this comment thread I stated that RPK had 'refused' to post my latest column, "Does Lebanon's sad fate portend Malaysia's future?" I first submitted this column to M-T on the morning of 22 August for publication. In actuality, RPK's residence was involved at that very time in yet another police raid on his home and property. His computers and other personal effects were being seized--again--and he was hardly in any position to read, let alone approve any articles for his website for a good many hours. Yet I made the erroneous assumption that, in the absence of posting my column, that he had declined the article. I then posted the aforementioned comment ascertaining that he had declined the piece, when in fact this was most definitely not the case.

I would like to apologize for the error and for mistakenly 'whacking' RPK for an error that in retrospect was solely my own. RPK deserves our fullest possible support at what must be a very difficult time not only for him, but for his family as well. I sincerely hope that RPK can accept my apology and that we can all move on in our work of trying to save Malaysia from itself.

Sincerely and most respectfully,

Anti Jihadist

The amount of flags strewn all over the roads and highway in every city , town and states during this month is most disrespectful than the flaying the flag upside down. Cars run over these flags, subjected to being pissed on by the local strays and many more.

Why is the government allowing such a thing? Don't you think this is disrespectful? Allowing vehicle owners to over decorate their cars, lorries and buses etc etc and let the flags just fall anywhere on the streets and ran over by other vehicles and you as a concern government just at it?

Just wondering how much the Pee em really knows about flags and respect> smilies/cry.gif

Once again, the people of Permatang Pauh have spoken on behalf of all right thinking Malaysians who desperately want change, and that is what happened last night when Anwar Ibrahim regained his parliamentary seat. I wish here to convey my heartiest congratulations to Anwar for his resounding victory against the Barisan Nasional candidate. While we celebrate Anwar's huge success, let us not forget the many people who were behind the scenes to make this election victory possible for him. I am quite certain that many PKR members and supporters would have worked tirelessly to ensure Anwar's victory. We must not also forget to acknowledge our thanks to people such as Rajah Petra and the leaders of the Pakatan Rakyat parties for their kind assistance in helping make Anwar's win in the much talked about bi elections possible. With a dynamic person such as Anwar returning back to parliament to head the opposition, I have no doubt whatsoever that the Barisan government will try all ways possible to deprive Anwar of his sweet victory by continually putting obstacles in his path to prevent him from toppling the ruling administration. The impending court case against Anwar for sexual crimes is just 1 good example. The Barisan Nasional crooks will stop at nothing to prevent Anwar from forming the new government just so that they can continue to plunder the nation with impunity. As I have said many a time, all right thinking Malaysians are desperately crying out for change and Anwar is just the right person who can help us effect change in this respect by forming the next government.
