BUTTERWORTH, Tues: Parti Keadilan Rakyat de factor leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today launched its Permatanag Pauh by-election campaign theme - 'Merdeka'.

Standing in a lorry in the busy business area of Sebarang Jaya, the Pakatan Rakyat candidate said the theme meant freedom. He said the PR would ensure freedom of expression and a nation free of corruption.

Anwar, quoting first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, said Merdeka was meant to allow freedom to the people. This, he said, was what had been promised by the Tunku. The Tunku had also said he would follow the rule of law and not the rule of the jungle, added Anwar.

Anwar said this was what the PR hoped to do if it won power.

Yes, merdeka indeed, after 50 long years. But lets not fool ourselves that the spirit of our constitution will kick in immediately, assuming that brother Anwar manages to change the government accodring to his plan.

It took more than 40 years for the rot to set in and its not going away soon. The main issues of race and religion will be here to stay for some time yet.

However, let us all help Anwar and Pakatan in whatever way we can to begin the first step to restore the true spirit of merdeka for ALL Malaysians...that all Malaysians will begin to see each other as brothers and sisters and not as Malay/Chinese/Indian dan Lain-lain.

If you are keen to be part of what might be a historic moment, then please make your way to Permatang Pauh to help out, even if it means sitting around in a warung to sell the idea of a Malaysia for all Malaysians.

The style of DSAI campaign tactic reminds me of the 60's and 70's when candidates would go place to place in lorries and speak from the lorry with speakers. Muck like that today. About 300 people was there during office hours to hear him speak and they cheered as DSAI promised Malaysians a new Malaysia based on the promise by the founding father of Malaysia, the great Tunku. That Malaysia is meant for the "rakyat" and not the ministers.

The speech was good and the crowd, composed of Malays, Chinese and Indians clapped and cheered him. Later Anwar gave press statements and went on to shake the hands of the public who were gathered there. I went up and shaked his hand too, wishing him the best in his endeavor.

He was a little curious of me [a monk] and was wondering who I was... But I missed the opportunity to speak further. I was standing away from the crowd, yet he made attempt to come over and meet me and my other monk friend.

Missing was the body guards. We thought that was a good move. He was free to move and shake hands with public without any interference.
Good move Datuk Seri!!!

Voters in PP, remember, IF BN wins and they forget about you, don't complain. BN will turn around and say that they never promised you anything during the campaign as they are so busy shoving Sialfool's butt down your throats.

Ok DSAI you are getting more and more support. Don't forget the following when you get to Putrajaya.
1. Don't be arrogant
2. Remember the rakyat
3. Keep your promises
4. Treat this country muti-racial

DSAI, I am concern that you move freely among the crowd without body guards. Knowing UMNO's dirty tactics, please ensure you have body guards around you to keep you safe. Who knows what they will do to you next? Desperate corrupt UMNO people are so capable of coming up desparte measures to stop you from wrestling back the power that belongs to the rakyat. Take care and may God send His angels before you and all around you to ensure your save mission to free the people of Malaysia from the political tyrants!!
