BUTTERWORTH, Tues: Parti Keadilan Rakyat de factor leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today launched its Permatanag Pauh by-election campaign theme - 'Merdeka'.
Standing in a lorry in the busy business area of Sebarang Jaya, the Pakatan Rakyat candidate said the theme meant freedom. He said the PR would ensure freedom of expression and a nation free of corruption.
Anwar, quoting first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, said Merdeka was meant to allow freedom to the people. This, he said, was what had been promised by the Tunku. The Tunku had also said he would follow the rule of law and not the rule of the jungle, added Anwar.
Anwar said this was what the PR hoped to do if it won power. - nst

It took more than 40 years for the rot to set in and its not going away soon. The main issues of race and religion will be here to stay for some time yet.
However, let us all help Anwar and Pakatan in whatever way we can to begin the first step to restore the true spirit of merdeka for ALL Malaysians...that all Malaysians will begin to see each other as brothers and sisters and not as Malay/Chinese/Indian dan Lain-lain.
If you are keen to be part of what might be a historic moment, then please make your way to Permatang Pauh to help out, even if it means sitting around in a warung to sell the idea of a Malaysia for all Malaysians.
