Kit Siang ticks off Umno for racist banner

An opposition MP had ticked off Umno for carrying a racist banner at Saturday's Permatang Pauh by-election nomination.

Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Ipoh Timur) said he was shocked when he saw a video on online news portal Malaysiakini which showed Kota Raja Umno members carrying a huge banner with the words Melayu DiTindas, Mana Keadilan (Malays Oppressed, Where is Justice).

"This is a very racist, communal and chauvinist stand. We are celebrating the 51st Merdeka celebrations in the couple of weeks and this is making a mockery of the celebrations," he said at the parliament lobby today.

He wanted Umno to apologise and withdraw such banners from the by-election.

He called on the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Razak to explain whether they endorse such actions.

He also called on other BN component parties like MCA, MIC and Gerakan to take a strong stand whether they support Umno's stand on this. - NEW STRAITS TIMES

It is their last desperate attempt to win the by-election. Remember there are 65 per cent Malays in that constituency? Otherwise I would suggest you recommend to them a better method for attracting votes because they are real lost this time. PM bernama Abdullah Bin Ahmad Badawi, TPM bernama Mohd Najib Bin Abdul Razak; mereka ini orang Malaysia Melayu yang pegang kuasa memerintah terunggul. Lim Kit Siang seorang Malaysia Cina tidak pernah pegang kuasa memerintah, jadi tak akan menindas. Lim Guan Eng seorang Malaysia Cina, baru mendapat tampuk pemerintahan tak samapai 6 bulan. Tak kan dah boleh menindas.

Mesti kerja orang lama yang menindas. Siapa agaknya

If Pakatan Rakyat carries any offensive slogans, hell will break loose.
Just like the assault on the jounalists. Investigations are ongoing. We still do not know whether they were planted by BN or outsiders or even PKR supporters. However, without any arrest BN and NST immediately accused PKR for the actions. It is very unfair. If possible, this is one of the ways where the ruling party can demonstrate/ practise democracy.

There it goes! BN is still racist and as the saying goes... Leapord will never change its spot. A precautionary noate for all the PPauh to reject BN outright. BN is capable of manupilating situation to be on their side. This is one warning that they may cause racial strife to declare an EMERGENCY STATE. I hopr our Beloved King do not budge the PM justification. The Malays must also unite with the other non muslim brothers and sisters to overthrow the useless BN once and for all and make sure BN is buried deeply top extinction.
